Being in London during 2012 was magical. So many visitors, flags , concerts and celebrations. The games went off extremely well and brilliantly organised. Finally they left a true lasting sporting legacy.

Sounds like London was an excellent Olympic host! Maybe we will see another Olympics here one year 🤔

Many happy memories of the 2012 games. We went to the park twice, once early on for the Water Polo, there was a dedicated water polo arena which was situated to the right as you entered the park, opposite the aquatic centre, and again towards the end of the Paralympics when we got to see track and field in the stadium and wheelchair tennis at the far end of the park behind the velodrome. The atmosphere was fantastic, and it started from the moment you got off the train at Stratford (free train travel was included with your ticket). I also went to see the Volleyball at the now demolished Earls Court arena, cheering for Serbia as I was at next to some Serbs! It was a fantastic time and I'm really sorry that I will probably never experience it again in my lifetime.

This sounds like a truly memorable experience! There's nothing like the atmosphere that is created during the Olympic Games - also something I remember fondly from the Vancouver 2010 Games.

Great times in 2012, the games was a great success. Probably the best ever for atmosphere and sell out stadiums everyday. I have visited the area on a cycle ride, very impressive. Thanks for the video, again brilliantly put together.😎

Sounds like the London Olympics were very memorable! It imagine it would be a great area to cycle… I know eric was eyeing some mountain bike paths when we were there last spring.

Worked at the Olympics and Paralympics .( Rail transport tech support). The stadium was mainly constructed out of recycled pipelines so thats good. The Orbit is a ghastly monstrosity. I did get a pass so saw both opening ceremony fireworks . The paras had a blind pilot in an illuminated light aircraft overflying the stadium and performing loops it was very impressive. Legacy? Not much,. As with most of London property price rises have driven real Londoners out of London towards towns like Basildon or further afield The number or real Eastenders and cockneys left are tiny

I love reading these memories of the London Olympics… maybe that’s the legacy? I hear you with prices in London - it’s shocking even for someone coming from a Canadian city with outrageous (and increasing) property prices!

Glad you enjoyed your tour of my teams home ground. Shame you didn't go up the tower, it has a great view and you don't have to pay for the slide you can go up and down in the lift or walk down the stairs.

Arthur - coming in hot with the facts! The handful of times I've been in the area, the slide hasn't been open and I've never noticed anyone using the lift or the stairs. This is a game changer - I might have to go back and check this out.

@@ACanadianAbroadMichelle i should have said there is still a charge for going up. Also if you want to scare yourself silly you can abseil down, again for a charge. Local residents used to get a discount though.

Daffodils come out in March every year. Sometimes February if it's a mild winter. Snowdrops in January, crocuses in January/February.

At least the stadium is being used on regular basis. Instead of being left empty most of the time .

Another great video, dont think youve made a bad one. 2012 was one of our best olympics ever, so many people were inspired by the success across all sports. Some cycle shops ran out of bikes after the success on the track!!

Please could u leave Canada behind? as I don't want to c you mentioning Canada and reminding us that you are Canadian in every sentence and unfortunately majority of us viewers don't care that you are from Canada and neither Canada is on an other planet which make Canadian interesting (plus i can c that you are Canadian from your KZbin channel name), its good to love your country and being patriotic about it but most of us don't care where you are from.... people watch these videos because they want to c and learn about London (including myself as this is my dream place to move to and live one day.) one more thing when I read a title London Olympic park and a video of 9 minutes i want to c a video of Olympic Park and not someone sitting in studio and talking about that she went to Olympic park with one minute location footage, please film more footage and cut out this studio talk c**p. In your videos selling point should be London and not you being Canadian, I'm not hating on you but just giving productive criticism to make your videos more immersive and interesting to watch. I'm posting this comment even i know I'm gonna regret later that why i was so rude but i feel its good thing to let you know how I'm feeling after watching few of your videos. sorry again if i hurt your feeling and no point blocking me i wont comment again. peace ✌

wow, i would say that the whole point of the channel is to see a Canadian point of view living in London, the Canadian slant is integral and what makes it interesting. You could watch videos from the London Tourist Board if that is your only interest.,
