Hannah, In the mid and late 90's and early 2000's, this place was called The Atlantic, and it was the most fashionable nightspot in London right around the time Soho House started. I used to go there all the time with my friends. It was the kind of place where big Hollywood stars, famous painters and Soho bohos and conmen could all be met of an evening. The bar area was run by Dick Bradshaw, who was the best mixologist in London at the end of the last millennium. I had a lot of fun there with my friends. In Canada we also say Zed. I remember once while in America I had to spell my last name which has two Zed’s in it and I had forgotten they pronounce it Zee. The waiter had no idea what I was saying when I was spelling my last name! 😆🤦🏻‍♀️

Hi Hannah. You asked for restaurant recommendations? What about Ting, Oblix or Aqua Shard in the Shard. The River Cafe (although, I know it's very difficult to get a table) Spring at Somerset House has a good reputation or as you like your afternoon teas, Thames river cruise with afternoon tea would be really interesting. 🗼I LOVE this restaurant, Hannah! What a great Parisienne cabaret vibe! Too bad about the noise though, because that would have driven me batty! Sorry guys, but I would have asked to be moved away from the noisy cleaning station! Can't imagine how noisy it would be after a show or during dinner. Yikes! The fixed menu itself was a good value, but the drinks were ridiculously overpriced. Don't you find that to be the case with fixed menu's? They get you with the drinks, even the water! I think you were very unlucky, I’ve been at least 10 times and always good service, it does get loud but not deafening. The bar first for a cocktail is always a good shout too! I have many been in the evening though with music playing so maybe that makes a difference

I dined at Zédel on my recent trip and it is well worth the time and money to visit. Best French style food I ate on the trip, and that's saying something seeing as I travelled on to Paris! Although, yes, you would NOT have been able to film at night, the place was packed.

The French Restaurant that you and your sister ate at looked very good and reminded me of a restaurant attached to a big Paris main line station.Food looked good but I think thh 24:22 e Diet coke was a bit of a rip off.Nevertheless that place is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.greatvideo as usual

That’s the old ATLANTIC BAR! awe my gawd! When I was a model in the 90s I saw a lot of famous people do some insane things in that place - if the door bore didn’t like what you were wearing you weren’t allowed in and every weekend it was full of a listers and their stalkers - it was the 90s and britpop and all that - felt like the second swinging 60s turned in their head for the 90s was amazing but it was over in a flash Gosh I miss those days ❤❤❤ And I miss the Atlantic bar - theve done a really good rebuild job on it but it looks TOO perfect now it’s almost inauthentic. It was the original ballroom tintype regent palace hotel above - when it first opened it was 5 star - by the time the Second World War broke out it was a five for prostitutes spy’s and homosexuals MARVELLOUS COMPANY!

The 1920's style is one of my favorites. I'd go just to enjoy the decor. Very unfortunate that the staff was much less classy than the space. And the pricing of the drinks is a little strange IMO. Also, I hate when restaurants charge couvert. I can't eat wheat and I still get charged for the bread in many places even if I tell them not to bring it and explain why. Anyways. We went to this restaurant last year. We were in the UK for 8 weeks and this was one of the most disappointing restaurants. It was very loud and cold and cavernous and the server didn't look at us once. He talked over our heads in the direction of the entrance. We are going back to London for 6 weeks soon and we won't be going back to this restaurant.

I went here this month, and I think you were a bit unlucky. We had friendly service and a seat near the front by the band, and really enjoyed our food. The French onion soup is amazing! Great video as always though.

God, l WISH you'd kept schtum about Zedel - an amazing civilised [and good value] refuge in the middle of the insanity that is Piccadilly Circus. Its odd it was SO quiet when you went, normally [and we eat there ALOT] its pretty 'buzzy', from 1pm >3.30pm. then picks up again with the pre-theatre influx at 5ish - then busy until 10.30. Mercifully no matter how buzzy it gets the noise level is NEVER deafening, since the 'soft furnishings' [Banquettes & & table linen - that are absent from SO many 'modernist' restaurants] soak up the din - one can ALWAYS hear ones table companion[s] speak, but cannot hear the conversation on other tables nearby. Generally there is Quartet playing at Lunchtime, [not sure about evenings, as we never dine there] ! I hope to God it remains unchanged by your review..
