I'm wrapping up 2024 with this final edition of London's Zero Emission Buses (Part 9). Anything exciting that happens from December onwards will be carried forward to Part 10 in 2025.
This edition features routes 439, E7, 58, 262, W5, U5, 64 and (cue fanfare) 358. Opinion seems to be split on whether the new Spanish tram-buses are a hit or a miss, but their appearance is certainly striking.
I anticipate that the BYD BD11 will feature prominently next year - Go-Ahead are already taking delivery of 75 units, and it is expected that more will go to Metroline and Arriva. Anyone who doubts the build-quality of Chinese buses should go to Malta and experience their smart fleet of sturdy, non-rattling buses which are obviously built to last.
The other interesting new arrival will be Alexander Dennis' new 8.5 metre Enviro100EV, which Go-Ahead will be putting into service to replace short E200s at Orpington.
As usual, thank you very much for watching - and a particular thank you to those followers who have spotted me at 2024 open-days and events and have come over to say hi.
