Being Lonely is a Massive negative when travelling alone as i found out when i visited Thailand in 2007 on trip i decided on 3 days prior whilst sitting in an English Pub Beer Garden on my Lunch Break. I had chosen a time when the bulk of tourists there were from China and i was lonely but after 4 days discovered an Irish Pub whos main occupants were American Engineers and to be able to share a chat in our common language REALLY lifted my spirit. up until then my Mum had never had so many phone calls from me 🙂. @@projectbiker on the Norway side you have the breathtaking landscape. It depends on what is more important for you: enjoy beautiful nature and landscape or the best trails for enduro riding? BUT: one of the absolute favorite places in Europe for trail scouting and off-road riding is Bosnia. There you don't need the TET maps, you only set your navigation on B- and C-routes, than you go mostly offroad in Bosnia. otherwise, Bosnia is not in the EU (like Britain :)) so you should have your papers sorted at the border. @projectbiker8 ай бұрын
Thanks Pi! As I'm a beginner to off-roading I'm thrilled with the bike as it's simple and reliable. It's not the best on highways but it can do 70mph very comfortably for as long as you like, and then once you hit the trails it gets over anything and is fairly easy to move around. I added an airmax seat cushion which helped a lot, and I'm sure a taller windscreen would also be a good addition in the future. I changed the rear suspension as I was travelling with luggage and worried that I'd bottom-out the otherwise (I went with YSS but there are better quality ones out there).

You will have a great time! I followed the Trans Euro Trail which you can download for free from their website. If you look at the map I show on the screen at various points in the film then you can get a sense for which parts of the trial I followed and which parts I took the road (usually because of bad weather). I'm happy to answer any specific questions you had about parts of the route if that helps?

Superb video, 58 this year and just getting started with it all - skill is one thing but the drive to get 'those moments' is something else. Brilliant.

Hell yes! What bike are you getting? And where you heading? Good luck, my friend. You will love it

@@projectbiker Probably going for a Tenere 700 - seems like there are plenty around - that's always handy :)

@@NickTadd Solid choice, although people more experienced than me advise that it might be too heavy for a beginner. But if that's the bike you like, I say go for it!

Have u tried lowering pressure a few pounds at the time untill u find whats best on gravel, a larger road stamp can make a big difference but u neec to get a small electric pump or wait for the next gaz pump up station. Im riding an xr 190 honda!
@projectbiker2 ай бұрын
The XR190 looks like a great little bike. You're right - I should lower the pressure more. I didn't at the start as I didn't trust myself to fix a flat tyre, but I've been starting to lower the pressure now I've become more comfortable doing mechanical work on the bike.

Very well done, both this, and your newer movie to Spain. You deserve way more views. It was also really interesting to see how a novice dirt rider would deal with the TET. Would you consider sharing your route? I'm planning a trip on the Italian TET and I would love to know where that spot at 26:00 is, for example.
@projectbiker2 ай бұрын
Thank you! The part you have linked is Mount Jafferau. In terms of the route, you can download the Italian TET from the website. I followed the TET starting in Bardoneccia and going up to Mount Jafferau (this part is steep!) and then I continued east until near Suso. It was here that I decided to change my route and head south, so I joined that route from Assietta.

Well I made myself a coffee and settled down to watch Nick, toe wiggle out of boot ride to Monaco and back....As I said in a previous post, I wished your videos were longer. Nick the movie delivered so much more and I loved the original posts but this just worked on a next level. Please excuse me if you already know, but your filming, music score and narration put me in mind of Adam Reimann.... his KZbin channel of the same name, I encourage you to watch!! Thank you for all your replies to my posts, I am transfixed by your channel.... spectacularly epic!! Thank you again 👍👍👍👍

Thank you again for the kind words. I know Adam Rieman and enjoy his videos a lot! I'm really glad the music and narration were well received, next I'd like to improve the filming...

Absolutely fair play to you mate getting out of your comfort zone. This will literally be me when I get time next year. In the mean time I will be doing a few off-road courses in the UK over the winter and trying to build up my "skills".
@projectbiker2 ай бұрын
Courses are a great idea. You'll feel a lot more comfortable when out there, instead of like me and learning on the trip!
@simon1290r2 ай бұрын
@@projectbiker learning on the job sounds like a better idea to be honest. The money saved on not doing off-road courses can be spent on a Garmin and other things to make my life easier
@projectbiker2 ай бұрын
@@simon1290r If you have the time and money for it, I feel having a course will always be preferable. But if not? Just get out there 😜

I'm not commenting on videos often but I have to comment on that one. Fantastic editing, great music choices, beautiful sceneries. Overall fantastic video. So far I only had road bikes but now I'm in the market for CRF300 Rally. I'm blaming that on you! Tkanks😂
