What super nostalgia. Especially the Sutton sequences where I drove from 1973 to 77. Never the RF in service but the occasional half hour's overtime operating the staff bus. Lovely to drive. Like an RT but softer and quieter all round. Especially poignant seeing its replacement BL lurking outside waiting to usurp its regal predecessor! I did operate the Bristol on the 80 and 80A and what a harsh noisy and horrible thing it was. Progress? So sad to see the disgustig state of these old ladies in their final year. But garage staff were full time keeping the DMS fleet on the road. My snooker was improved by many a duty spent in the canteen due to NBA (No Bus Available). N99738 reporting!

The RFs were magnificent buses.....a joy to watch, listen to and ride on. Sadly my local route at that time - 227 (Crystal Palace & Chislehurst Gordon Arms) - succumbed to SMS buses in the first week of January 1971. The replacement vehicles were 'interesting', too, but unfortunately for entirely different reasons.....

My RF route, too. Along with Green Line 72?5?4?. Now reintroduced somewhat as SuperLoop SL3. A marvellous very well-used new service fro Bromley to East Croydon via Bethlem Royal Hospital.

I drove RF's (208) and RLH's (178) out of Dalston Bus Garage in the early 70's. You couldn't get on them full time as they were crewed by the old fella's 😂😂😂
