A bit of info about the lines and the trains each line runs. Bakerloo Line: Operates 1972 Tube Stock, currently the oldest type of train on the network. A disused cab can be seen in the middle of the 6 carriage train, a holdover from plans to run the line with 4 carriage trains during off-peak times. These plans fell through, and the cab remains unused. Central Line: One of just two deep level lines that run 8 carriages. Runs 1992 stock trains that sound suspiciously like washing machines. Circle Line: No longer a circle as the line was extended to Hammersmith in 2009. Formerly ran C69/77 stock until 2014 when they were replaced by S7 stock. S stock are standardised units for all sub-surface lines for ease of maintenance. District Line: Formerly ran D78 stock until 2017, though some C stock was used as well. Now uses the same S7 stock as the Circle Line. Hammersmith and City Line: Technically the newest line as it was introduced in 1990, but runs on existing tracks. Shares most of its tracks with Circle, Metropolitan & District Lines, making it maybe a little superfluous. Ran C69/77 stock until the types replacement by S7 stock in 2014. All S7 stock are interchangeable between lines. Jubilee Line: The newest purpose built Line on the network, originally ran from Stanmore to Charing Cross. The line was extended to Stratford in 1999, and the Charing Cross branch closed. Formerly ran 1972 and 1983 stock, before 1996 stock was introduced just prior to the extension opening. 1996 Stock have one of the more distinctive motor sounds of all LU Stock and are 7 carriages long. Metropolitan Line: The oldest route on the network. Formerly ran A60/62 stock until 2012, when A stock was replaced by S8 stock. S8's differ from S7's by being 1 carriage longer, and having some more typical transverse seating arrangements on board, compared to fully longitudinal on S7. S8's do not run on other lines. Northern Line: Runs 1995 Stock, visually similar, though mechanically different from the 1996 Stock. 1995 stock are 6 carriages long. Plans to extend the trains to 7 carriages were never undertaken, and the trains don't fill the entire platform at stations that can accommodate 7 carriages. Piccadilly Line: Runs 6 carriage 1973 Stock. Though visually similar to 1972 stock, these trains differ in not having the defunct cab in carriage 3/4, and have a drivers cab door that 1972 stock lack. Victoria Line: The only deep level line that is entirely underground (save for its depot). Formerly ran 1967 Stock until replacement in 2011 by 8 carriage 2009 Stock. Waterloo and City Line: The shortest, most useless line on the network? Originally operated by British Rail and only made part of the true LU network in 1994. Runs 4 carriage 1992 Stock, which when introduced by British Rail were classified Class 482 under TOPS. The trains ran in original Network SouthEast colours until refurbishment in 2006. All trains now run in LU Corporate livery.

A couple of mistakes here: 1) The Elizabeth Line technically isn't part of the Underground; it's a commuter railway built to connect Reading and Heathrow in the West to Abbey Wood and Shenfield in the East. It's a lot like the RER in Paris, connecting suburbs to the city. 2) Neither is the Overground; that's another commuter railway that circles London. Both the Overground and Elizabeth Line are operated by TfL (Transport for London), which also happens to operate the Underground, as well most other transport in London (hence the name). 3) The DLR is a kind of aqua blue, the Overground is orange and not coral, the H&C is a salmon pink, and the W&C is turquoise.
