The Old Curiosity Shop puts in an appearance... of sorts.... as we wander around Legal London for the Inns of Court Part 2 walk. Starting at the Royal Courts of Justice on the Strand, we meander through Clements Inn and the buildings of the London School of Economics around Clare Market. We pass what may be the Old Curiosity Shop, but probably isn't, before moving onto Lincoln's Inn Fields, London's largest public square. From there we cross High Holborn arriving at Bedford Row before entering Gray's Inn to catch the lunchtime crowd enjoying the hot summer weather in the gardens. Crossing back across High Holborn we see Staples Inn, one of the few timber-framed buildings to survive the Great Fire of London in 1666. We then head past the London Silver Vaults, moving onto the old gateway to Lincoln's Inn, finally passing through New Square to end the walk at the new entrance to Lincoln's Inn, right on Lincoln's Inn Fields.

Hello Angela. How are you and family and especially your mum? Really happy to see a new video from you come in. I have fallen behind in my viewing and comments as mum and I have been extremely busy. We just completed a 3 day road trip attending 3 different events: BBC Gardeners World Autumn Fair at Audley End House in Essex last Friday. Then Hampton Court on Saturday for a massive car show with over 1000 cars. Then Blenheim Palace on Sunday for another massive car show, also with over 1000 cars. Altogether we have attended 36 events so far this year with many more to come. We are off to RHS Wisley flower show on Thursday. Incidentally I thought of you whilst at Hampton Court. And had we had the energy afterwards we would have walked around nearby Kingston, inspired by your lovely chatty video of the town. But we had already walked around 15000 steps and almost 8 miles! We did catch a lovely view of the Thames from the grounds of Hampton Court and all kinds of sail boats, tour boats and such. Definitely want to return to explore that whole area and the Thames path and of course Kingston. I well remember your Kingston video with the Saturday Market, Bentall Centre, Canbury gardens and your riverside walk. I will be working out on the stationary bike today and will make time to enjoy your latest chatty walk. Anyhow hope all is well with you! Ibrahim in Canterbury

@Falcom Scott All Hello there Falcom! How goes it? I've been wondering how you are doing and have seen your comments in many London videos. Mum and I are doing well. We are here at home today and catching up on much to do around house and garden. Living room here has so many tourist brochures and such from all our trips, it's like the headquarters of the British Tourist Board! Anyhow. I will watch Angela's video soon and am really looking forward to it. And yes, hopefully see you at the next Premiere. Take car and talk soon!

Good morning Ibrahim, lovely to hear from you:) Do not worry about not commenting or viewing (funnily enough I actually mention in this video that you are all not to worry if you can't make it for watching/commenting due to life taking up your time!). I had to delay upload of this video by over 2 weeks due to being so busy with getting reflooring and painting done around the house, which then led to a big clear-out that took two weeks on top of the three weeks of workmen in. It was also my birthday, which, lucky me has led to rather a lot of get-togethers:) My mother is in and out of Bath RUH a lot for testing which seems never-ending, so this is also taking up time. In all, July and August have had rather a lot going on. You have been having an excellent time by the sounds of it with all those visits. I've walked to Kingston after doing the Hampton Court Flower Show and believe me, it's far too tiring - left me with 30K steps that day! So do it separately. Good luck on the bike today, hope the video keeps you occupied:) All the best, Angela

“Nosing around tours”... I like that! It’s why I enjoy your videos so much, happily strolling around different areas, and learning facts at the same time. I especially like your own personal comments about things so I never mind if you don’t have notes on everything. I’m catching up on your videos, the last few months have been crazy hectic (I see some Canada mentions in a few, looking forward to watching those) and was happy to see you back at the Inns of Court. I enjoyed your video there back in January (was that really 7 months ago already?!) and liked this one just as much. Old public toilets tour... 😄 I think I’ll give that one a miss. 😛 Although it could end up being your most popular tour, for sheer curiosity. You could combine it with the water pumps of London walk! Sneaky of Dedicated Helper, getting a couple of snippets of you on film. You should have done a little curtsy for us. 😄 A shame about the hot day. Sounds like you could have used a thermos of iced tea or lemonade. Dedicated Helper earning his name trudging along with you in the heat (notwithstanding the bribe 😉). A big thank you to both of you. I’m glad you got a bit of a sit down with a cold drink (and croissant!) and hope you enjoyed your meal later.

Nosing around is definitely the best;) And I'm glad the not totally professional delivery is a positive! Sounds like you have been super-busy with life; yes, I want to recognise the Canadian community on the channel, as you are all super-supportive. I think it's fair to say that the 'bribe' of food also benefits me;) He got his way and had his favourite halloumi wrap at Leon in the end, with a good few cold drinks under the air conditioning. All the best, Angela

I really enjoyed this video Angela! I spent a day with my son in 2007 looking around The London School of Economics as he had a conditional offer of a university place there. It's a very interesting area to wander around I must say! xx

Than you Deborah:) You're right, I had no idea the LSE had such a nice spot - it would surely be so motivating to turn up to study somewhere like that, well, as long as you can afford somewhere to live on student income I suppose. I'm guessing your son went to a different uni in the end? Hope he is doing well these days. All the best, Angela

Yes, it was a very motivational visit all told to London that day, but my son went elsewhere for his degree when the time came. On graduating in 2010 he has lived in London since as you know. I was going to comment on the William Marsden information too, and thank you, my son is doing well at the moment. I travelled down to London exactly three weeks ago today to spend some time with him. As part of my recent 60th birthday present from him, I got to stay at Sea Containers for this visit, which you've probably walked past many times.... Absolutely ideal base for getting around lots of London, especially when visiting during transport strikes as I did! We managed anyway. Funny story, but my son was telling me something about where we were (on several occasions actually!) and I thought, I already know this information, but how.... Ah, watching Angela's videos of course! 😁😘 xx

Thank you Fred and yes, much the same here, the heat is persisting but with some thunder and rain thrown in, at last - our local pond is half dried out now. I was thinking of you yesterday as just before lockdown in 2020 I had planned to film around Trinity Buoy Wharf after I think you mentioned the Nicci French novels - two and half years later I'm starting the research! Thank you Val, lovely to hear from you as always. Yes, London fits together really quite well, but it's getting it straight in your mind that is the challenging bit! I had forgotten the Samuel Johnson quote while I was filming and coincidentally found it mentioned in a video yesterday by John Rogers - I'm not sure if you have seen his channel but he's an amazing historian - outside of Samuel Johnson's house just off Fleet Street is the famous line. Ah well, I'll just need to find an excuse to go back and film again! Hope you are well. All the best, Angela

Hello Angela Great walk we love this area. Did you notice at the beginning of the video there was another youtuber Joolz doing a tour. We have been in the Sloan museum which of course I had researched it and found out that they have many Hogarth's picture which are very big and are in special cabinet that opens up to show others behind, so after looking at the ones opened I started opening the cabinet to see other ones when I was told to stop. I was informed I was not allowed to do that and was almost kicked out. So have 36 you only get to see 12 of them. The silver vaults are great to visit. I am sure near the end your walked you walk by the area they filmed A fish called Wanda whan Wanda visited John Cleese character at his law office. Thanks for the walk. Where did you go for lunch? Take Care Chris and Sandra of Canada.

My goodness, what a tale that would be - thrown out of a London museum! I must admit, I rather wanted to pop into the silver vaults, another time I suppose. I looked it up and you are right, New Square was a filming location for A fish called Wanda. And yes, I didn't think at the time, but was it (another?) Joolz sighting? The lad was most insistent on going to Leon in the end - these days it is all hi-tech with screens as you enter to make your order. We were lucky as we arrived during a lull in the lunchtime crowd and got a table - he loves their halloumi wrap and cheesy fries. Hoe you are both well - is the seasoning turning there yet? Here the trees are having a 'false autumn', dropping their leaves for survival far too early. All the best, Angela
