And also in being imprisoned for so long, her worst nightmare came true. To be forgotten and abandoned. More so the forgotten than the abandoned part. As when she returned, no one but Celestia and Twilight, the latter due to being a studious bookworm, knew who she was. And having had some sort of consciousness during her imprisonment would have fueled her fear. Cause she was in solitude for a long time with nothing but her thoughts to keep her company.

Oh my gosh! I listened to this while reading the story. This is almost as good as My Little Dashie! The images described and your narration really make you feel what Luna is feeling. And then at the end that little bit of foreshadowing. And you're really good at imitating the voices of the characters on the show. It's just so amazing! Everything you can do. Keep up the good work. Personally out of the nightmares I I've had and heard, life threatening nightmares involving death are overrated, but a nightmare about eternal taunting illusions, hallucinations and loneliness, that sounds like 1 hell of a nightmare feeling inner constant emotional rejection . This was a creative fanfic, one of the best I've heard.

Have you ever considered doing an origin story for Sunset Shimmer? Like, how did she become Celestia's pupil before Twilight? Or how did she know the Elements of Harmony had been released again? Betrayed by the one person she trusted above all else. The one person that she believed understood her. Stating once again that she was banished by said sister and forced to be by herself for a thousand years with nothing else to think about, feeling scared and alone and betrayed, eventually all of those feelings building up into anger. But because Celestia is her sister, someone she loves and holds dear to her, a small shred of Luna still held on to that.

Left alone to constantly think about Celestia and the other ponies and how easily she believed that they would forget about her. And just being trapped in the moon alone made her fear come true. She was in a cold and dark place all by herself without the love and companionship which she had craved. The only thing she really wanted. In conclusion we have Luna banished into the moon by her own sister, the only person she felt noticed her at all, to be alone for a thousand years feeling betrayed.

I agree with you that she was more than likely in some sort of slumber, but I don't think that it was a deep one. I personally feel that she was conscious of the state that she was in. A majority of her being remaining angry at her sister, while a small part of her missed her sister and, over time, grew to be sorry. Which would explain why she so quickly admitted to being wrong and apologized after being reformed by the elements of harmony.

If Princess Luna were real and I got to meet her, I'd tell her how much I appreciate her. I stay up all night whenever I can. I enjoy the moon, stars, the darkness, and the quiet it brings. It feels surreal and I love the night more than the day. When the sun is out, everything is bright and obvious. At night, I feel like life has more mysticism because I can't see everything there is. Princess Luna is a character I can relate to wholeheartedly because I too have huge insecurities about how people perceive me. I never understood how she could be unappreciated. If this MLP universe were real, I'd sit Luna down, and tell her how much I appreciate the things she does and that I love who she is and how she can cope with her past as well as she does. Love her. Luna is best pony.
