God bless Lone Ranger. In the summer of 1990, A producer named Mr. Murphy took me & Horsehead to do a recording by Mr. Dodd studio (Music City on Fulton Street). I was fortunate to meet Mr. Dodd and Lone Ranger that night. Never met another artist so humble and genuine. Since then, I've had the privilege to interview hundreds of artists but Lone Ranger was probably the humblest of them all. It was a great honor that I keep in my memory 30 years after our first meeting. Even when he wasn't doing so well, he never stopped being nice to people.

..glad fi know the brethren still going strong in the music and otherwise...I first met ranger in 1979...it was my first forward to ja after immigrating to the US earlier in that decade, following our parents...i had a cousin that lived on langard ave off waltham pk rd...we went to dance somewhere nearby off waltham where soul to soul was playing...big youth, dillinger, trinity, clint eastwood and ranger were our fav Djs at the time and still is today, at least, their legacy...ranger had some solid tunes, i.e. "Sew Mr. tailor man" and "Jamaican Collie"...but "Barnabas Collins" is and was a masterpiece...anyway i introduced myself to him at that dance on waltham pk rd...upon my return the States, i had a friend and we're still friends to this day who grew up in that area of Ja who was also good friends with sugar minott...he loved music promotion, as for me, i just love good reggae music and the artiste thereof whom i patterned myself after as a dj...as it were, the brethren wanted to promote some shows and asked for my recommendation of an artiste, without question i named ranger...eventually the brethren went to ja and returned with Tony Tuff, Triston Palmer--we celebrated his 19th birthday at the brethren's house-louie lepkie, sammy dread and of course my fav lone ranger...barry brown was supposed to be a part of the group, however, the brethren had difficulties getting him on board...the shows were quite successful in NY, in NJ, wherever they were kept...i was but a youth then being born 1962 and i don't know what really went down but eventually the five were out of my brethren's camp and with someone else as recounted by ranger...i know lepkie gone before us, and he had his issues, but my memory of them all is good and friendly...i must say, one thing i remember triston saying from his observation, jamaican artiste want to become "super" before them-a-star...also i must say that i'm glad palmer and tuff took my advice and didn't "runoff'"...to the remnant of brethren, much love and raspect!!!

This is a classic interview i remember seeing Lone Ranger in Peckham place called Bouncing Ball it used to be called Mr Bees . Lone Ranger mash up the place but before he came on there was another dj called Capone who was also very good apparently Capone is Papa Levi older brother. This was in the late 70s early 80s I was hooked . Lone Ranger was always good either on stage or sound system specifically on Virgo Soul to Soul and Gemini these djs General Echo Ringo Welton irie and Lone Ranger were a massive influence on the English dj scene many of us were influenced by these same djs . There is a tape with Lone Ranger and Echo together if you check out Don Sinclair they have that audio . If you can listen to Kilimanjaro with Buro the great Jim Kelly and Lone Ranger that audio is a classic some great Linval Thompson dub plates were played and all 3 djs performed magnificently.

There was a time when the DJs used to like take on names of cowboys, Lone Ranger, Trinity, Josey Wales, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Ringo, Lee van Cliff, Marlon Brando etc... This was during a time when showmen used to go around many small communities and show cowboy and karate shows on the weekend
