Hey Larry, I decided a few days ago I was going to thank the youtubers that I really appreciate. I won't bore you with the specifics of my situation but suffice it to say I live in the hospital more of the year than I don't. As such when locked in a tiny room one of my big outlets is watching youtube videos and yours are some of my favorite, I've gone through the series at least three times in the past year or two. It just makes what is otherwise a shit situation bearable and I wanted to thank you for it.

And yet another new toy without an un-boxing video!!! don't you know most peoples want to see videos of people taking stuff outta boxes! But seriously , watched a vid featuring Montreal-style smoked meat yesterday and was very interested in giving it a taste. However while watching this video all I could picture was that super tender brisket that deli served up and want to cook one for myself now.

Congrats on the LSG Mini Larry! I love mine. That was pretty impressive doing one butt per rack and seeing them all finish at the same time! Looking forward to more cooks!

Curious, which the smoke off a smoker, be wood gas or synthetic gas cause that would rock. You could potentially use that wood gas for a small engine or generator. You'd need a condenser coil but that's just an awesome smoker.

I know it is going to be a good smoker for ribs, brisket, etc.. and such, but i was wondering Larry if it would work on things like pastrami or steamed burgers, and steamed cheese if i have the small rectangular trays to put the burgers and cheese in ?

I very much enjoy your videos and especially with your Lone Star Grillz Mini. I have been looking at IVS for over a year and the Lone Star Mini looks amazing. I have had at least 10 smokers over the years (20+) and currently have 2 Traegers and a Yoder YS640 pellet smoker. Seeing as the Mini is a SIGNIFICANT expense I wanted to ask you a few questions about your experiences with the Mini over the last few years. I really appreciate any info you are able to share and thanks in advance ! 1) What does it really take to get the temperature dialed in and is it as easy at you made it look? 2) Is the Mini a smoker that you would feel absolutely comfortable doing an overnight cook (few briskets) and letting it just do it's thing for 7 hours while you are happily snoozing in bed? 3) It seems that a few of the sealed cabinet smokers can have a significant creosote build up during long cooks - is this your experience and if so does it effect the taste of your smoked food? 4) If you had it to do all over again would you still go with the Mini? 5) Most importantly, how does your food turn out - taste, bark, texture? Again, thanks in advance!!

interesting that rather than "snaking" around the charcoal seems to have lit 'across' the plates. Enjoy the LSG

Hey guys. Trying to find a source of food safe steel in order to make a custom burn box for my electric insulated cabinet smoker to a stick/pellet/lump/charcoal briquette cabinet smoker. I have been unsuccessful in finding someone to fabricate and do the welding at reasonable cost. It has been disheartening. So I am going to try to do it myself. This includes learning about different types of steel, how to wield, finding the right type of wielding (might, tig, arch, stick...?????) and materials (304, schedule, gauge,...). Any recommendations or advice?

Your using the t plates wrong. Try combining two together; the small tabs together creating a gap between the two. Also, try lighting the front corner newest to the ball valve.
