I bought the album “Firing On All Six” dirt cheap as a cut out at K-Mart. I had no idea who they were, but the price was right and I liked the album cover. (This was in 1978.) When I listened to it, I very impressed! (I liked Uriah Heep, Kansas and Yes and felt this unknown group fit in.) I finally looked ‘em up at allmusic and KZbin, and here I am! Excellent music!

God bless the late Rick Dayne (Radio Jackie North) and Phil Easton (Radio City) for intorducing me to this great album. There was this singer in a band playing at the Steamship near East India Dock who had a voice that very much reminded me of Glenn Hughes, but not. It bugged me because I recognised the voice but could not put my finger on it. So home I went and flipped through my LPs until I got to Lone Star. Bingo. John played with his band at the time quite a few nights down there, sometimes guesting with The Gutter Brothers. Each time, I'd buy John a pint and ask the same question and be met with the same answer. Shame really..
