Did you figure out how to make the seat comfortable? I'm close to buying one.
@leafinitup110 ай бұрын
Home Depot sells 2 inch foam pads cheap, for kneeling. I got one of those and cut it to size. I also use a thin piece of carpeting on the underside so that the padding doesn’t sink down into the metal supports, and I zip tied it all together. I still love the stand and I’ve been using it exclusively for the last two seasons.

On those smooth bark trees that cause your stand to pop, I take an extra strap, do t cam it quite so tight and use the extra strap on the bottom. It’s solid and you don’t ruin your hunt.

LWCG stands supposedly fixed the sharp edge issue, but still, this is the video I’ll come back to when tempted to try their stands. I don’t use a hang on enough to justify the cost of the Beast stand, and the seat on the OOAL Hush is too small, even if it does sit farther from the tree. Sure, I wish my LW Assault 2 was lighter, but the bow holder works just fine for me, as well as the stand as a whole. There’s just not enough weight savings with the LWCG 1.0 if you ask me. Also, I’ve never had my LW/Novix cast stands “pop” on a tree when camming, no seat or seat pad issues, and as far as I know, Lone Wolf/Novix is honest with their customers. Great, thorough and objective review! Gotta love it when folks don’t gloss over issues simply because they lost all objectivity soon as they talked themselves into dropping the cash.
@leafinitup12 жыл бұрын
Thanks David. Yeah, I wish they could scratch a few more lbs off, but this has still been my go to stand. I’ve been looking at saddles and saying the same thing… There’s not really enough weight savings from the 1.0 to make it worth my while, when you factor in the platform and sticks. Pretty much abandoned my climber though because even though it takes a little longer to set up, I like the versatility of the hang on. Whatever you end up using, happy hunting to you
@davidrussell6312 жыл бұрын
@@leafinitup1 not surprised one bit. Like everything nowadays, things have changed a lot since I commented. My Lone Wolf Assault 2 isn’t even sold anymore, and the price of the narrow yet surprisingly heavy Novix Helo has gone up BIG time. What hasn’t changed is that OOAL Hush stand’s tiny seat, while LWCG offers various seat sizes. As for climbers, my Summit MINI Viper was probably the best purchase I made last year. I’m only 5’9” but my hunting buddy is 6’, and the mini Viper has become our number one stand. The best thing about it is it carries so high, so it doesn’t contact limbs and underbrush near as much as our full size Vipers. If I’d known it wasn’t just for kids and women I would’ve bought one years ago. I do recommend their footrest, though, at least for gun or crossbow since the platform is so short.

This was honestly one of the best reviews I have seen on this product. Being as expensive as it is, I appreciate it. Im emailing them soon to see if they have fixed some of the issues, especially the sharp edges. That is insane 😳 for a stand costing that much. The refining should be just about flawless

Agreed. Hopefully they were able to refine things, but it’s still a great product overall. Thanks for commenting!

I'm an owner of the Lone Wolf "sit and climb" which IMO was one of the best stands out there, I love it. Except for the fact that now, because you can no longer get the belts for them that attaches the stand to the tree, is a useless pc of expensive scrap metal that no one can use. Lone Wolf turned it's back on everyone in the past that purchased their stands and got them where they are today. I don't care how good any of their stands are going forward, if it's made by Lone Wolf, I'm going the other way. And I'm not the only one that feels this way, search it out and see for yourself! They've turned their backs on past customers once, and I have to believe they'll do it again.

Everyone who owned that stand loved it. I’ve read a lot of the controversy surrounding this company. What’s odd to me is that they sold the original company, but then opened a new one with almost the exact same name… Lonewolf Custom versus Lonewolf. I’m sure that had something to do with the demise of the original company. In any case, there’s no denying that they make a good product.

Sure thing Keith. Overall, it’s still a very good set up, but they do have a few kinks to work out. The only other comparable stand on the market now that may be worth checking out is from Hunting Beast, but I don’t know much more about that one. Thanks for watching.

I bought an old original Lone Wolf Assault and added the new batwing offset bracket, new cables and hardware and replaced the versa button with the new Beast Gear delrin button...... painted it D'aquisto Titanium color and it weighs 8.8 lbs..... They sell those thicker seats that are way nicer. I might get this stand or the .5. Just not sure if its worth that much more than my xop! Maybe I'll get it and use it for going way back but I know I'd be sketched out going up above 15' in that small .5! At least I can get up 20' in my xop and feel safe. Maybe sell the xop and get the 1.0 and get the bets of both worlds. Hope they fix the kinks that you pointed out as well.

Pay and extra 125 for the beast stand. It's way better
@leafinitup13 жыл бұрын
Ooof, that's a lot of cash. The beast stand wasn't available when I made my purchase, but it also looks very good, and Hunting Beast is a reputable company. The stand looks very similar to the LWC. Why do you say that it's 'way better'? I think it comes down to what climbing sticks you prefer to use. If you use the LWC sticks, then get the LWC stand too for portability. If you have the beast sticks, then get the beast stand to match. (I currently enjoy using a three step stick, which influenced my original buying decision.) Thanks for the comment.

@@leafinitup1 the platform dimensions to start, the teeth at the back are wider allowing it to get into more trees, it's lighter then the 1.0, ot was actually TESTED independently for weight. Something lwcg didn't even bother to do. Your video shows how shit the sticks actually attach to the lwcg. If you have 500 for a stand you can afford another 125.

@@jimmywallhanger8402 I have a 1.0 purchased in January and i must say, they've cleaned up their act with the sharp burrs. I've been to two of Dan Infalt's scouting workshops and have played around with his stand. It's nice but if you think his sticks nest perfectly to his new stand, you're wrong. That rod (used to connect the sticks to the beast stand) he's selling isn't perfect. There's still movement. Also, i for see that rod being easy to lose and not easy to replace owing to it being constantly out of stock. I get a kick out people thinking the lwcg sticks are supposed to 'lock" in and not require some strapping method. All sticks require strapping methods. I like the Beast stand but got my 1.0 for $400 on the Christmas special. It's 8.1#s bare and viciously locks to the tree. So, i don't think a pound and a half difference is worth $225. Finally, I hate Aiders! So, four lwcg full length sticks weigh a tad over 10#s. Five 20" Beast sticks weigh 10#s. PLUS, I have a meat shelf. It's a wash....
@jimmywallhanger84023 жыл бұрын
