@@TheG-e5d That isn't always true, there are specific personality types that will often not need any companionship at all, they prefer solitude. I am talking naturally now, not through experiences. Some people are born with an innate block on their social needs, pushing them into isolation but doing well from it. It really does exist, its just very rare.

The buildings are a blend of old, decaying brick structures and sleek, metallic towers. Some of the older buildings have crumbling facades, their bricks eroded and covered in graffiti, symbols of resistance against the encroaching modernity. In contrast, the newer towers are adorned with holographic advertisements that flicker sporadically, casting an eerie, inconsistent glow on the wet pavement. Each ad promotes something different - from the latest cybernetic enhancements to the newest synthetic food products - their vibrant images and messages almost mocking the somber atmosphere of the street below. The air is thick with a mix of rain and smog, creating a haze that blurs the edges of his vision. Acid rain, a byproduct of industrial pollution, falls in a steady drizzle, each drop sizzling slightly as it hits the ground. Puddles form in the uneven pavement, capturing and distorting the neon lights into abstract patterns. Streetlights, long neglected and in disrepair, cast weak, flickering pools of light. Many are broken, leaving large swathes of the street in near-complete darkness. The occasional spark from a malfunctioning light provides brief, staccato bursts of illumination. He sits on a weathered bench, its metal frame cold and unyielding against his skin. The bench, like many things in this part of the city, has seen better days - its paint is chipped, and rust has begun to eat away at the legs. His old bones creak as he shifts slightly, seeking comfort that is hard to find. Around him, the distant hum of machinery and the occasional whir of a passing hovercar punctuate the silence. The hovercars, sleek and silent, glide through the air on magnetic tracks, their lights casting fleeting shadows on the walls as they pass by. The smell of wet asphalt, mixed with the faint, acrid scent of industrial waste, lingers in the air. Nearby, a drainage grate occasionally belches out steam, adding to the already heavy atmosphere. Trash litters the street, a testament to the city’s neglect of this area. Papers, discarded food containers, and broken electronic components are scattered everywhere, mingling with the detritus of everyday life. As he sits there, memories from his past drift through his mind, a series of fragmented images colored by time. He recalls the simpler days of his youth, long before the city became this neon jungle. His mother’s face comes into focus - her warm smile, the gentle way she used to hold his hand, the stories she told that painted the world in bright, hopeful colors. His brother, with his infectious laughter and boundless energy, seems almost tangible in his mind's eye. But those days are long gone. His mother and brother have been dead for years, their lives claimed by the relentless march of time and circumstance. He is the last one left, a solitary figure in a world that has moved on without him. The loneliness presses down on him, a weight that never quite lifts, no matter how much time passes. The cybernetic implants in his body hum faintly, a constant reminder of how much the world - and he - have changed. His left arm, replaced years ago after an industrial accident, clicks softly as he moves. He touches the small locket around his neck, the one keepsake from his mother that he has carried all these years. Inside, a faded photograph of her and his brother smiles up at him, a relic from a time long gone. Around him, the city continues its relentless pace. Shadows move at the edges of his vision, figures cloaked in darkness, their faces hidden. Occasionally, a flash of color from a passing drone illuminates their features briefly, revealing expressions of weariness and resolve. The drones, constantly monitoring, buzz overhead, their lenses gleaming like the eyes of predatory insects. He closes his eyes, letting the memories wash over him. He seeks solace in the past, in the warmth of his mother’s memory and the joy of his brother's laughter, as the future looms uncertain and unforgiving. The street remains dark, a silent witness to his reverie, as the city of 2085 pulses and breathes around him, indifferent to the thoughts and dreams of an old soul left alone in time.
