As an student athletic trainer I can say it is good to do what this is being a STATIC stretch but you also need to o MOBILE stretches and warmups. NICE SPLITS!

so scholastic KillerGirl, i was a nerd a while ago too. physiologically a stretch needs to be held for at least 30 seconds. this is what i learned. Do you say otherwise? muscle fibers need that long to actually relax. every morning i have to do stretches to just get outta bed. my hip flexors and hip extensors are tight, always. i hold each stretch for at least 5 minutes. it may take any where from 30 minutes to an hour to get all my stretching done. that's the only way i can get outta be and not throw out my lower back. every morning.
@phelosophyyy6 жыл бұрын
ProthoPectore well stretching doesn’t really have to be held for EXACTLY 30 seconds, stretching is a warm up for the extension of your muscles through out the day. And it’s good that you do that every morning it really gets the blood flowing. Stretching your hip flexors and tendons are hard but I would say try to get more support for your hips and maybe go see your doctor if it really will effect your day like that. I’m only a student though so I can only give you a very unsupported prognosis.

im a mid 40's young guy with a few medical issues. also beat the hell out my body through highschool. i do need to strengthen my core a bit, that would help with support. most pro athletes say the first thing that they recognize isn't performing as it used to is their legs. the legs get a little slower, the stride gets a little shorter. best wishes with your school plans. very competitive curricula. p.s.- i dont like docs. i only have a P.A. or a N.P. General Practitioner docs get over specialized from what i've seen. NP's and PA's keep their minds more open.

For that 3rd stretch you can sit down as well and do it with each leg if tables or anything isn’t available
