Boomer has a really good time being able to come along on the adventures even in the winter. Watching my own dog how much he loves snow. He can lie in a snowdrift for hours and is almost impossible to get inside.

Ram. That would be my choice given the time of year and expected climate. GMC is a very close contender. Either works well but that wood stove in the Ram is exotic.

I would love to see how the van performs on a road trip…for 2 reasons , (1) it would be good for you to sort of test it out on a trip so if there is anything that you may need to tweek or change ,you could find that out on a solo trip ,prior a first trip that you and Kendra and Orion will make ,and (2) as I have the same van , I would love to see how all your systems work to know if I should make changes to my van , I’m thinking mainly about your heating set up with the diesel heater. I would love to see how it performs in the cold and snowy conditions of the CB highlands or wherever you choose to take it ! Road trip..the RAM. I think you would have the most comfort. 40 inch tires is insane. Around the time you were born...maybe a few years after, my dad and I were at our hunt/fish camp 🏕 near Shinjng Tree 🌳 Ontario. It was February. One morning it was -45C. We had the air tight stove just maxed out for heat. It was so cold 🥶 that the stove struggled to keep the camp.at 20C.

I'm not sure whether I have a preference for which truck you use. It's great to see the variety of your locations and equipment. On that note, you have used a few cold tents: North Face, NatureHike, Featherstone, Nortent. Do you have a favourite? And also, you don't use your old Mardingtop backpack. Is your new backpack more comfortable, or is it the roll top, or some other features? That was a great tip about the circular titanium pegs. I will definitely give these a try. I had a dog that would sit down during a walk if he was tired and we had to carry him back !!! Example: one night he ran off and was out all night - couldn't find him nowhere, he as back in the morning and no idea where he was all night,,,, so later that day we went for the daily walk and about half way through his hang over got him and he sat down and would not move, tried coaxing him pulling the leash,,, nope he is not budging and I had to pick him up and carry him back to the car about 1/2 mile..... he as about 45 lbs and at my age that was a work out !!!

I bought that tent last year for $125 brand new. Wouldn't dream of using it in the winter. The zippers are kinda minimalist compared to my Eureka 2 man tent. Its 23+ years old and the taped seams are compromised now. Compared to the northface, they don't make them like they used too. Also I replaced my mountain guide jacket circa 1999 with a newer version patterned after it. Was shocked it only came with 2 pockets. Same minimalist zipper as the tent. Thanks for the video. Also the new coat doesn't have zip in liners....does your coat have the extra pockets?

WOW! That was a great last few minutes of footage. Regarding suggestions, I really enjoy the dialogue. But of course you must engage with your videos in a way that makes you happy. Love your videos…the scenery and the way you make everything work is fantastic…..and the fact you bring Master Boomer with you and still makes sure he’s well taken care of. And love watching him run thru the snow…like he’s saying “I’m a big boy too”! You really do seem to have some of the best gear for different types of camping….do you design any of these? And do you have a suggestion for someone my age …71 this year….if I wanted to do a little camping with some friends? I do have fibromyalgia and arthritis pretty bad but not ready to give up life….and actually if I push myself some and exert some energy it actually helps some…most of the time. After watching your videos I just want to try it……there wouldn’t be snow….unfortunately…..just dry weather and fairly warm. Thanks!!

You have a lot of gear, what if you did a video for a novice or have limited funds. What should I look for in a tent if I can only buy one to fit all situations? What about a sleep system? Should I still buy a high rated sleeping bag and mat, but can I still use the mat during the summer with blankets. Regarding a stove? Would you choose a stove based on size of tent or heat production? No brand recommendations, just what is best to look for in gear. Use only those items on your extended trip.

Great video Jeremy! If your planing on hitting the mountains for your overland trip I’d recommend the ram just because of the 4x4and the massive amounts of snow in the mountains. Could be lots of ruts from skidoos and the van may get stuck in. Can’t wait to watch and see what you choose.

Put the names of the camper's in a pot. Draw out the vehicle. Use that vehicle for that trip. Next time leave the one chosen out. Pick another from the pot. Random vehicles for awesome trip's.

RAM or van. Does Boomer have his own sleeping bag, or share yours? We tend to like boring, maybe due to age. Plus we love wood stoves and campfires. I am a Dodge/RAM guy, at least for the past 45 years. Before that, had a Ford 460 with two gas tanks. Therefore I like the Ram first, the van second, the bus third, and the GMC last. Again, being in my 70s, don't like climbing ladders, but more so, don't like having my mode of transportation locked down to a parking spot... A broken bone, bug or snake bite, etc. would require tearing everything down to get medical attention, which would be difficult for a lone traveler.
