Use one of those infrared digital temp sensors to check the temperature of the top and bottom radiator hose. That will tell you if your radiator is working properly. Those little infrared things are great to diagnose many temperature problems. It is posssible that your water pump is going out too.
@mikereekie49482 жыл бұрын
Maybe your water system on the cotton picker is air-locked. Drain all water from the system and re-fill, leave radiator cap off and squeeze radiator hoses to expel all that air. That might help.

Why do you have to defoliate the field after you pick the cotton? Should the radiator hose have a spring inside to keep it from collapsing?

@greyghostkoga2 жыл бұрын
The vacuum relief valve inside the radiator cap is bad or plugged and won't allow air in when the system is cooling off. Replace it. That should solve the hose flattening problem. It may even help the overheating problem. If that doesn't fix the overheating problem, the next thing I'd do is a coolant flush and change the thermostats. Next after that, maybe consider pulling and looking at or replacing the water pump.
@harveystephens61152 жыл бұрын
Vote 2 on radiator cap. Glad you back. Missed you Big compressor like jack hammers use be great to blow off picker and combine. Enjoyed Do y’all haul bales to gin? That will be work too. Hope it’s done before field gets muddy

Change your thermostat are it’s the water pump. JD is bad about that. Get you a Red picker. lol. Beautiful cotton crop. You need to give your dad a camera so we can see him harvesting the soybeans and watching that nice Red machine cutting soybeans!!! Good luck and be safe!! From La. 😁😎🙋🏼♂️👍

Good morning Granny. Daniel could it have something to do with that roll of wrap since you had no problem after you changed the roll of wrap? Keep making those memories with T.
@bradley77232 жыл бұрын
On your intake cooling hose it should a round metal spring inside the hose which prevents suction flattening of the hose. Do not lessen rad. Cap as it will not allow proper pressure in system to prevent boiling. If system doesn't get to 12-13 lbs you run the risk of coolant boiling on the base of cylinder walls which will cause micro bursts on cylinder similar to hydraulic cavitation and the water side of cylinders will end up with tiny holes that will eventually will allow cylinder pressure to bleed thru and there goes the engine. Catastrophic failure. Ps. Also check thermostats some of the engines have 2 and there is a possibility 1 or both may not be opening at the proper temp.

Those baler machines are soooo much more efficient then the old basket machines. No boll buggie, no builder. Although we have CS690’s and are getting 12 rows at a time. The efficiency outweighs the costs in the long run. If you have the acres to justify it.

From experience, wearing that mask when power blowing dust of any kind will keep some really bad stuff from entering your lungs. When younger, it really does not seem to have a big impact but when you age then the accumulated material in your lungs are more likely to cause problems.- thanks for sharing.
