It's kool seeing it all laid out.... spread out so we might get a vision of the bigger picture? Truly one could split your trip into 4 1,000km trips all spacing an 8 day trip. And you still couldn't make a dent in seeing stuff.... that said, Iron Butt Awards come to my mind & all the weight carried along w/ how you packed it is most informative, in my humble opinion. I'm still saving me money for a bike & I like seeing how different guys/gals utilize their bike for long/short hauls. Lots to learn so I wish you a great trip & will watch for video drops as I know you'll have a lot of video ! peace

you will love the 15/43. ive got a bigbore drz and just got back from a melb to mount dare across the simo and back down via innamincka. I ran 16/42 mostly because i kept getting told it couldn't be done. sat on 130 lots, would shift into 5th at 90 and to be honest it was probably a bit tall as it would labour if you dropped under 100. i did change down to a 14 to cross the simo. i have ran 15/42 in the past a will probably go back to that for longer less hill orientated rides
@The_Apprentice_Adventurer4 ай бұрын
@@andrewwilson9057 sounds like a epic trip. The 15-43 thus far is perfect for 120km for me and feel it will suit this ride just fine. I did a bit of hard riding with it the other day and certainly would prefer a 15-44.

That looks soooooo good. Looking forward to seeing the trip. I've got a collapsable chair and table made by Rocky Creek Designs. They're excellent and fold away quite small - maybe a bit smaller than the one you've got but not sure. I've also got the same kind of chair from Aldi - which works great LOL. Looking forward to the trip man. While the dream is to just jump on the bike and go you need to be realistic with taking gear as well. Yeah you could do the whole ride and not need a tube, have a flat tyre or to a wheel bearing, but what if you do. Keeping the empty water bottles is a great idea, you can always refill them down the road. I use the double walled steel water bottles just in case a wayward rock hide one and cracks the plastic.
