If killing himself is a big sin then Smoking is a absolutely real slow Poison which helps to kill a person. Don't you know that tattoo is haram in Islam. Why am I talking about this???...you may surprise... Here is the main point: Since Allah has created and given me a Healthy Beautiful body so it is our duty(responsibility) to preserve this healthy body as much as we can and one day we will have to return back this same healthy body to our Creator (without destroying our health body either by Cigerette, or Poision etc..etc...by Alcohal or Cigerette etc... whatever is harmful for health). So if this is main reason not have tattoo on our body, so how Allah will love all those person who destroys their body by drinking or smoking by having harmful things(intentionally) for their healthy body which has been given a healthy body by Allah for certain period of time??? If Tattoo is considered as unwanted modification in our natural healthy body, so how killing himself by slow Poision which is called Cigerette,... Can be acceptable??? And definitely, slow Poison (Cigerette, Drugs or alcohol) can have severe negative impact on next generation baby so do we need unhealthy Umaah or Healthy Ummah??

Most likely islamically children should go to the father if they are not weaning age because the sole responsibility for finance and security is the father so its easier to furfill that role and also it makes it easier for mothers to remarry as usually men with kids can remarry more easily then women with kids. If weaning age, then mother should be financially be provided until weaning (child drinking milk) ages to 2yrs old. This is also protect against instances of stepfather raping and harming children.
