But what if your divisor is bigger than the first two digits? Ex: 186/24 24 is bigger than 1 and bigger than 18. I’m still kinda confused 😕

Then you will also include the last digit. Determine how many times 24 can go into 186 and continue following the rest of your steps until you reach your remainder. 24 can go into 186 seven times and you will have a remainder of 18. How to check your answer

Let me give you an example: 79/17= 4...11. You need to multiply 17 and 4 equal to 68, add 11, if the answer is the dividend, that means your cauculation is correct. If you don't have a remainder, you just need to multiply the divisor and the quotient.
