Hey Kyle, during the course of this series, can you go in depth on taking someone who doesn't currently have speed and how to acquire that? Speed drills, workout routines/sets, etc? I see with Micah that he's already got the speed and you're fine tuning it, but what would you do for someone who needs a lot of speed. Say someone around 110mph trying to get to 120/125 club head speed?
@zarlodious1
@zarlodious1 2 жыл бұрын
I am not Kyle fast but I took 10 years off golf and came back with a 100MPH clubhead speed for driver. I used the HEAVY driver from momentus and just practicing with speed intention and in a few months I got up to 134MPH fastest with about 120 avg.

Love this series. Im using alot of your methods and ideas in my own Game, not for Long drive ...but for longer drives. Ive gotten my club speed from 109 to 119 in the last 6 weeks...mainly from lots of reps... lots of full maxed out swings... Weighted club swings/ grip and shaft only swings, and practical isolated workouts. Thank you for all of the great free advice you give. Im hoping to by the end of the winter be 125 swing speed with your guidance. One thing i love that you said before was " a bad technique perfected, works better than a good technique you just learned"... Everyone should keep this in mind when trying to progress.

Kyle is a legend for putting this level of expertise out there on YT for free. This is absolute golf science gold. I hope Kyle becomes the most sought-after speed coach out there, he really explains everything so well and it is clear he is the elite expert on this. Oh and Micah smashes it, what a natural athlete, great swing! To be able to hit it 350 drawing and fading with low spin shows how fundamentally sound his swing is. Loving your channel all the way from South Africa Kyle!

Well done Micah. This modern idea of holding off the release, forward shaft lean etc. is holding many players back. Release the clubhead gets more speed and, with a controlled swing, just as much accuracy (Rory, Fred Couples) with less strain on the body. Ian Woosnam was a big hitter of his time, only 5ft 4in with a fluid, easy swing. He talked about "flicking" the clubhead at the ball like flicking a towel.

The last few months I've been working out and trying my best to increase my speed and efficiency and it felt like I was not accomplishing anything but yesterday when I started a speed session something clicked and I hit all new PB's and it came completely out of the blue but it boosted my confidence in what I am doing is helping my overall growth!

Kyle, you're very cool man. I enjoyed watching and listening. I "fell" into a rhythm at a driving range. It was so bizarre and felt effortless. Average drives 340+. I hit over 1,200 balls that day. I didn't even feel like I'd been swinging. I could have drove the balls forever. I thought 2 things (Not savvy with Golf at all), 1- Wow, I'm really striking it well. Strange sound, like an explosion, not just a hit. #2- My body mechanics, seemed to balanced and free. Just NO stress at all. All those swings and not sore or tired AT ALL. Oh #3-- I was totally relaxed in my swing and allowing my wrists to totally release or snap. Reminded me of when I was playing Baseball, and I'd snap my wrists like Hank Aaron. SEE YA! Good by mister spalding! :--)) GO GET EM MICAH!

It might be different for long drive. But in most cases, putting the ball more forward in your stance tends to help people hit draws not fades. Putting the ball back in your stance helps fade shots as the driver comes slightly steeper into the ball.
