Excellent video and flight. I was impressed by the Eggs Benedict.......was hoping for them flying UA to HNL but we were served egg whites instead. I thought that was pretty low....this was in Polaris 8 hr flight. Pre merger, Continental served an afternoon tea mid flight and then still a light snack before landing in Houston. Yep, the 300ER is a wonderful plane. Really has the power on take-off. Loved your pointing out the locations as the flight progressed. I'm always glued to the window.

I have flown United many times over the years and I think they do a fantastic job with the meals.

Wow! Nice! In daylight for the whole flight? The North is what makes Canada Canadian! And Banff is TWO F's BTW.
@jerplanes33552 жыл бұрын
Yes it was in fact the flight was so early (left at 9:15) and so far north at some points it felt like it was sunrise like time had gone backwards! I think we crossed time zones where the time was earlier than the departure! Arriving before lunchtime after a 11 hour flight felt weird especially because I never sleep on day flights.

So did you get your money back on the flight you postponed, or did you have to pay again for a new flight?
@jerplanes33552 жыл бұрын
My parents had booked the flight since they flew out with me. I believe (not 100%) they were able to get a travel credit with Virgin. Not great but better than nothing. They had to pay for the new United flight though, which was not cheap ($1600) but wayyy cheaper than going Air France which was almost $3000 one way!

Obviously, the 777-300ER is better than the 787 NightmareLiner...... It's not even a question... and the (much older) 767-300ER is better than the 787 NightmareLiner too !!

I am curious on why you extended your flight because of COVID, when they removed the testing requirements to the US? Or was this before they removed the requirement?
@jerplanes33552 жыл бұрын
I was not well enough to fly on my original date so I gave myself a week. They had removed the testing requirement but I just wanted to be safe plus not infect a whole plane of people.

even if you dont have to prove you dont have covid its still a good idea to not get on a plane knowing youre infectious..
@_w_w_2 жыл бұрын
@andi You are an awful person for asking this question! If you are infected, you shouldn't risk flying and infecting other passengers. This is particularly true for long-haul flights. I am stunned there are people like you... My coworkers managed not to get infected for 2+ years and was one by one infected and reinfected after taking a long flight business flight with all precautions taken. Cabin air is high risk for transmission, regardless what airlines are saying about their HEPA filters. Otherwise, the virus would not be able to spread all over the world. Thank godness that I still see a lot of people wearing masks onboard a flight, even in 10/2022.
@andidede36532 жыл бұрын
@@_w_w_ don't judge on one simple youtube comment. Personally I am not going to stay overseas because of COVID, are you going to pay for my return ticket that will cost double now? Just wear a mask which I have done since covid. People need to assess their own risk and act accordingly. Its very hard to know where your coworkers got it if they were not aware if anyone was actively sick on a plane they could have got it at their destination nobody knows. Its time to move on we can't live in fear for the rest of our lives. If you want to wear a mask do so if someone doesn't well that the beauty of freedom, we are not China who believe in a zero COVID bullcrap its not going to happen

What are you reviewing here? Comparing Outside view between Europe and USA, did you review different seats, did you even show the different class of service as you were walking to get to your seat? What’s the purpose of these reviews if you can’t even show the viewers different type of sitting that are being offered!m on this plane!
@jerplanes33552 жыл бұрын
My videos have more emphasis on the journey itself, like takeoff and landing. I always try to add sections on the cabin itself (seat, meals, entertainment, etc) but they are not meant to be in depth critiques like Noel Phillips does. Walking throughout different cabins is not always possible during the flight because of curtains and so forth, and on this flight the lights were off for most of it. As for when boarding the plane, its hard to really get good footage without filming other people and I like to respect privacy. Also the crew did mention not to film them without permission. Sorry if it seemed misleading I try to give them accurate titles.

I wouldn't wish long haul economy on anyone, regardless of carrier. It's no fun. I stay home if I can't afford business class or better.

@@dradoode You are out of touch! United's 777 10-abreast and 787 9-abreast are truly unbearable for long-haul. There are some airlines you can get by with in economy, but United is a torture.
