Really appreciate that Will! It’s funny, I typically make short 2-3 minute videos for the places we travel to and resorts we stay at. But I take so much drone footage that 99% of my videos were going unused. So I came up with this “aerial ambience” series so that I could get a little bit more out there...and they’ve turned out to be some of my most watched videos!! I also think KZbin algorithm prefers them because they’re longer (typically 8-12 minutes)

Thank you! and totally agree, song selection is so key when making videos! Didn't know you were from Croatia. We spent much of last Summer in Croatia and really enjoyed it. Took a bit of drone footage, but there's a lot of red tape to fly there so didn't get nearly as much as I would've liked! Heading over to your channel here soon to see all the goodness you've been up to lately :) Thanks for dropping by, dan
@EllaMcKendrick5 жыл бұрын
Do you use the Mavic Pro 2? I ask because you linked it in the desc but then use 'dji phantom 4' as a tag for the video ;) whatever you use, the quality is amazing! Which lens filter did you use in such bright lighting? I'm still getting to grips with which ND filter to add in different conditions. One thing is for sure, they make such a huge difference to the drone shots! Mine were always way overexposed without them. Was it hard to fly smoothly through the gazebo at 2:27? The water is just insane. No 'dark bits' there so easy swimming :) I used to hate swimming over 'dark bits' hehe. I love the coastline at 6:54!
@WhatMyLensSees5 жыл бұрын
Oh crap. There might be a link error. Let me look into that and update if so! I definitely use the DJI Phantom 4 plus. So, for mid day sunny day shooting , the ND16 is my go to filter. I can keep that on from basically 9am-3pm and that will cover me well. The gazebo shot took a few tries. You’re the first person to comment on that and tells me you understand well the complexities of flying a drone thru small spaces ;) to do that one, I had to disable all the “safety” sensors and fly it as straight as possible. Was good fun and I think I nailed it on the 4th pass! Also true on the water in the Bahamas. It’s mesmerizing! I could stare at it the rest of my life and never get bored. I get the whole dark bits thing too! While we were there, a shark did attack a young woman a couple islands away. And that was really tough news because she was just snorkeling in a group when the incident occurred. So, as beautiful as those Waters are, there’s still a lot of wildlife and always gotta remember that you’re in the their home. There was a few times my wife and son (and eventually me) got out because the wildlife was a little too close for comfort. Thanks again Ella for such a great comment!
@EllaMcKendrick5 жыл бұрын
@@WhatMyLensSees That's a coincidence you should say that - I was just discussing this same shark attack with my parents about an hour ago. It's so unfortunate that it happened. You have more chance of being killed by a coconut falling on your head than by a shark. Thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions! I have the Polar Pro filter set for my Phantom and I will be trying out the higher ND's now :)

Incredible footage! Really well done and put together (great music, editing, etc!). Question, does anyone know where that sandbar is that starts around 3:00 and runs till about 5:14? Is that Sandy Cay or maybe somewhere more north (near Cape Santa Maria)? Definitely need to check that out next time we go! Thank you for posting this great footage! I hope LI doesn't get swarmed with tourists as a result! ha ha!
@WhatMyLensSees4 жыл бұрын
Hey there Patrick. Really appreciate that my friend. Long Island is truly a special place. I also want to get back there as soon as things return to normal (or at least normal-ish!). That sandbar is actually closer to Exuma from what I remember. Think it took us about an hour and a half to get over there from the cape by boat. I don’t know the name of it, but you could reach out to the team at Cape Santa Maria and pretty sure they could give you more details. I’m guessing LI is pretty safe from mass tourism at this point given it’s a bit harder to reach. Now, if they ever get a direct flight from Miami, things will change in a hurry. But I selfishly hope that never happens 🤞 again, really appreciate the kind words on the video and hope you get to return there soon enough!!

My wife and I spent 10 days at Cape Santamaria. Gorgeous facility with unparalleled service. Do NOT rent a boat so explore these beautiful waters. They have color based on sun and clouds and tide. Sailors rule here. This is a boating nightmare if you have no tools or knowledge. On shore things are cool if you let taxis take you to fun food rum places. Get a tour boat and bypass the hassle of getting grounded in beautiful water. Long Island is a remote escape - no international airport - no hospital - 2 classes, north and south - very cool island experience with very friendly people

The eyes almost cannot conceive and believe what they are seeing is real. That the ocean can be so turquoise over such a vast area, not just the beach waters, is almost like an optical illusion that the brain cannot process and the sea and the sky almost merge. Theres your 'usual' clear sea paradise, then there is this on a whole other level. This must be hands down the largest area of bright turquoise sea on the face of planet earth, and the whitest beaches! It certainly appears so from google earth. My question is are those villas or blocks of flats on the beach? And the cost?.... I figured £100 Million each perhaps but if they are whole villas that must be far too cheap. 1 BILLION each perhaps?!!! hahaha
