Living in Scotland I’m amazed at how much passengers talking is audible in the cab - it must take drivers some time to tune it all out. Love the video and playing Train Sim World 2 on LIRR driving M3 and M7 around NYC. Thanks!

I think this train has a small driver's cab on the right side of the aisle, so the front middle window is accessible by passengers to look and film out of, same as many of the trains on the NY subway. That's why the voices are so clear, the cameraman is basically in the passenger area. (Unlike most British trains which have full width cabs.)

Fun listening to the train's various motors power down and then back up as it passes through sections of track where there's a gap in the third rail system. Watch carefully for long gaps and you'll hear the whirring sound vanish and reappear.

The ventilation system , and also the lights blink on and off ! I don't believe the new trains do that , they have back-up power ! These original Metropolitans M3'and M1's before that were the best !

Great video! I know yellow over green is approach medium but at about 7:45 I saw a yellow over green over white. What's that about? Thanks

The stations don't seem to have any signs that passenger can read to know where they are.

They do, you can see a total of 9 signs at Bayside (24:00) that say "bayside"

What was the "slow walk" for the last part of the trip? I saw 45 for speed signs. The track was clear ahead. Yet he was slow walking for a while.
