@@bachphantat you don’t actually get more weight doing that. You get the most weight to the voice freeing it correctly because the real chest voice muscles become in tension. But yes he’s depressing the larynx. Opera is supposed to sound like speech. You can hear quite clearly when Caruso sings he says “poiCHEHHH poiche va preso stanzAAAAH” the end that it’s like natural speech
