I use the 6.5 rayo on this map in tandem with the 300 magnum. try out the soft points for the broadside shots! I've been having a lot of success with it and then switching to the polymer tips for quartering and frontal shots. the 20 expansion on the soft points almost always gives a medium to high bleed rate

The 6.5 is really fun. I was zeroed I’m for 75 for a whole day and was taking 300 plus meter shots and got a couple heart shots. I aimed around the 1st dot for around 320 meters.

One thing I agree with you on is the fact that the bighorn rams need more attention on the horns themselves, way to little of a mass on their head area. And a little to much curl, because it’s so skinny.

Hard to beat the ballistics of a 6.5 both the creedmoor and the grendel. The Creedmoor though has definitely became one of my favorite cartridges to have in the fields and won my heart over the past couple seasons.

I mean, animals do run more with the 6.5 than the 30-06, though they can both reach double lung on must of the same animals if you hit them in the right place. the 6.5 seems to have more soft-point penetration, but not by much. Also, in my experience, 6.5 has a lot less drop and lag time between firing and the hit than the 30-06.

Not surprised the 6.5 got double lung on the bear. That round is rated at 200m effectiveness in COTW while other rounds like 30.06 are 150m or 75m

I think they should add different grains for different calibers. f.e. I use a 30-06 in real life and the choices i have are 150, 165, and 180 grain rounds. For my state (Oregon), I usually use the 150 for blacktail, 165 for muleys/ benchlegs, and 180 take down elk and bear without a problem. it Just seems like they gave all the 30-06 and 6.5 the 150 and so they suck at taking anything down. Also, the long range accuracy in this game is suuuuuper flat for most guns.

I've been using a mod from Nexus for a month or two that extends the range to 750m. Only other mod I have is one that fixes the red dots in the game, since the ones we have right now look like you dipped your pinkie in red paint and touched the middle of the sight.

@@neonwhitea.1548 It helps a lot on maps that feel extremely barren at times despite huge open fields, like Vurhonga. On Silver Peaks and Cuatro Colinas it helps with making the hillside prairies more lively, same with Yukon's red fields. I use it more for actually seeing them and then getting up close to take the shot, but I've seen some crazy people on Reddit down animals from 600m away. I tried twice and I gave up since I ended up tracking for a long time both times.

Funny that people have fallen for the “6.5 is flatter” nonsense. It’s actually not that flat. In the velocity department it’s a dog. 7mm-08 beats it. It carries well at extended range but by the time the it matters, it has very little energy left because at the end of the day it’s a 140ish grain bullet at about 2750 FPS. Nothing special compared to calibers like the 7mm rem mag or 300 win mag and please before the high BC comments come, remember that the .284, .308 and literally every other caliber larger in diameter than the 6.5 can have a superior BC if you’re willing to shoot the heavy bullets. Which is where the magnums and big standard action cartridges have their place. 6.5 has been marketed as something that it’s simply not.

Irl and in game the faster the projectile the less you have to aim high, .357 Magnum drops less than .44 Magnum in game at 164 yds. The 6.5 will drop less than .30-30
