long tail 6.5hp on 12ft boat

Predator 212cc w/stage 2 hop up kit from nr racing and 7in prop test ride on the river, top speed reached was 18mph with me and my dog in boat. Motor is running on a beaverdam mud runner long tail kit.

Nice Video, I just took my 12' Jon out for its first voyage with the Mudskipper and it did great. My transom seems fine but do you add extra bracing?? or just rebuild a rotted transom??? thanks Mack

I replaced the wood with a larger piece and had a friend weld some extra aluminum to key points of the transom to handle the extra weight and force of the motor. The boat was so old the metal used was pretty thin. Wouldn't need to do all that with a newer jon boat.

Did u remove the engine governor cause it seems to be bogging at higher speeds or ur tune is off and needs more fuel on the top end. I know the video is old lol.

It's a sears 12 ft Jon boat that's a 1970's model. All rivets have been redone and transom rebuilt to handle the extra weight

I think the motor weighed around 35 and the ponytail kit weighed about the same.

Am I the only person who converted my 12 foot jon boat into a Rock River boat anyone else put rubber Hume on the bottom of their boat to protect it from slamming into rocks when you jump things I need to make a KZbin video LOL

gains go up to around 14 horsepower with a stage 1,2 and taking the governed out i believe
