Long time no see | Walt Disney World Railroad Ride behind locomotive #1 Walter E Disney.

Well here’s a video y’all have been waiting a very long time for. Riding behind WDWRR locomotive #1 Walter E Disney. He too has been away for an overhaul at Strasburg Railroad. He would be there from Halloween 2016 to late 2019. Despite his return to Disney probably in late 2019 he wouldn’t be in service till after the railroad reopened in late 2022 after such a long torching closer. I did ride behind him in February 2023, but never went back till December that year and Lilly Belle was the only one on the line. Even though she ran the days I was there I didn’t ride behind her because it felt so recent since the last time I rode behind her. As you can also hear, very ironically Walter is not equipped with his Buckeye 3 chime whistle. Apparently Lilly is equipped with it as her Buckeye whistle got damaged. Both Buckeye whistles are much higher pitched having been unclogged. Right now the whistle Walter is tooting or equipped with is a Baldwin 5 chime. It gives good vibes to the Roy O Disney locomotive as well as Little River Railroad #110 and some steam locomotives at the B&O railroad museum such as 0-4-0 #4 “St Elizabeth and the no longer running 4-4-0 #25 “William Mason”. I guess this was the whistle all those locomotives tooted. I mostly compared this whistle to a B&O 3 chime. As of today the Roy O Disney has now been taken to Strasburg Railroad for his long awaited overhaul. He might be back in 2028, 2029, or early 2030. Speaking of the Roy as you can see here, yes Walter is pulling Roy’s series 400 cars. Walter has done so before his overhaul. I like it as much as his series 100 cars. I hope Walter will get his Buckeye 3 chime whistle back soon. I promise all of you this is only temporary.

i know a lot of people never heard this but at 12:50 you can hear Rogger e brogie battling the boat. im sure that walter is using roys horn after roy is now gone

This isn’t Roy’s Whistle at all. It only sounds like it. It’s actually a Baldwin 5 chime. Roy toots a Hancock 3 chime. This whistle is very ironic on Walter as we’re used to him tooting a Buckeye 3 chime like Lilly Belle. But Lilly is tooting Walters Buckeye 3 chime. Hers got damaged somehow and is getting fixed. I’m sure soon Walter will be tooting his Buckeye 3 chime again soon.

I actually love the Baldwin on Walter and hope it stays! It gives her a unique voice instead of sounding similar to Lilly and Roger (imho)

Walter and Lilly toot a Buckeye 3 chime. I like it. It’s just not Walter without it. You do have a point about Roger. He used to have one. In 2014 it was replaced by at first a 4 inch Crosby 3 chime with Lukenhimer valves. Today he toots a Lonergan 3 chime. Yes the Lonergan sounds the same as the Crosby/Lukenhimer 3 chime. And I don’t think Disney wants Roger to toot his Buckeye 3 chime again. Walter and Lilly deserve the Buckeye 3 chime.

Walter is the one I rode behind during my vacation back in December. However he still had the 100 coaches at the time.

Walter looks great after his overhaul too. And rather he’s pulled his series 100 Red cars or Roy’s series 400 Blue cars I like it. And that Baldwin 5 chime whistle gives me good vibes about Roy now that he’s gone to Strasburg for his overhaul. He needs it. There was a lot of rust under his boiler. He needs a new one like stat. I predict he’ll be back in 2028 or 2029. And I’m sure Lilly Belle will get her Buckeye 3 chime back. I know it’s just not Walter without his. While this Baldwin 5 chime gives me vibes on Roy, it gives me vibes on various other steam locomotives like Little River Railroad #110, and 2 steam locomotives that ran at the B&O Railroad museum like the 0-4-0T named St Elizabeth and 4-4-0 #25 William Mason. Also a small amount of vibes on Tweetsie #12. But Tweetsie #12s whistle sounds louder than this. Also Walters Buckeye whistle being tooted by Lilly Belle gives me slight Durango and Silverton vibes except the Buckeye is more high pitched as the K class Mikados whistles are a little deeper sounding. Stay positive Walter and Lilly will be tooting there Buckeye 3 chimes soon.
