Gas mileage doesn’t change all that much to be honest, and yes sir! Anytime you remove the cats the check engine light will come on. A tune I necessary when you delete the cats, and you’d have to do it within two weeks of installing headers Bc then it starts running funny

Great sounding truck. Did you get the x-pipe or y-pipe connection? What length size did you get for the wires? Did you get the extended O2 sensor wires? Did you get any error codes after the install? How is the finish of the headers holding up? And can we get a video underneath the truck?

Alright so what I have is an off road y pipe (no cats). And for the wires what do you mean? And yes for any 2016+ you need the extended 02 sensors! And installing any headers with high flow cats or not does turn on the check engine light on, but that’s about it. And for the finish on the headers I can’t really say right now since I haven’t had them for more than a month so only time will tell, and yeah man it should be no problem, within the next couple of videos I will be underneath the vehicle so I’ll show the headers from the bottom.

Does check engine light turn on ? Did you delete the resonator or muffler?

Yes getting headers does turn on the check engine light and you will need a tune to bypass it. And the resonator was deleted and it had a carven r series muffler with the headers!

What muffler are you running? I have a 14 5.3 that I bought speed engineer headers for that I’ll be installing in a few weeks. I’m running a flowmaster super 10 and I’m worried it will be too loud lol

I have the carven exhaust R series so it’s pretty similar to the flow master super 10 in terms of how loud it is! And it could be loud under medium acceleration- wide open throttle but if you lightly accelerate it’s not that loud. Also cruising speeds 60-65 is not that loud but anything over that it’ll drone pretty loud hope this helps!

Alfredo Miranda I had the Carven TR on, but once I got the headers I put on the 24” magnaflow and it helped out a lot. Maybe a tad to quiet but still sounds good when WOT. May try like the 18” or so if you want. I’ll be switching to something again soon, may try something new.

You do gain some horsepower with a time prolly around 15-20 give or take. But with the tune and everything it pulled way harder and got up to speed quicker! You could feel a difference

Hmmm I personally enjoyed the speed engineering headers and they were cheap for my truck (2017). I’d say they are a good fit and quality, imo it’s either these or pacesetter long tube headers to go with!

If your going with the stick tire size on the 20s 275-55-20, then the front tires will rub when turning only. Also the lower valance on the bumper will scrape on inclines and maybe even bumps too. Hope this helps!

Yes they do! They usually net around 15-20hp increase usually and a tune is required to get the most out of them!

It’s lowered 4/7, so in the front it’s lowered by upper and lower control arms. And in the rear it’s lowered by a flip kit! And as far as the wheels and tires they are stock so they are 275-55-20, and the front rubs a little when turning! Hope this helps

Headers was about $500-$600 and cost to install was about $300 at a local muffler shop. Then lastly you need a street or dyno tune, I got the street tune for about $400. So all in all about $1300

Yeah a tune is necessary. You would also have to do it within two weeks if not it’ll start running kinda funny. But the tune and headers make a huge difference, mostly the tune since the shifts are firmer and it actually gets up and goes. I’d say it’s worth it if your into that kind of stuff like performance and going fast 👍🏽 but if you just wanna build a cruiser that’s good too

Choppy sound might be bc it’s way too loud or their might be a leak so I would double check everything is connected! And as for as the check engine light you have to a tune for your truck to get rid of it and it’ll run a lot better. How long have you had them installed already ?
