Great to see a boat under way. So many boat stories on KZbin are simply tours around moored boats looking at bedrooms and bloody swim platforms. Well done guys.

Hi John, just watched all 3 episodes with enjoyment. So you replaced "Shark Bay" with a "Janner" built boat, nice she is too ! We have just bought our first boat, a Sealine 270 & she is berthed at a favourite of yours & ours, La Rochelle. Our plan is to spend our cruising years exploring the Biscay coast from the tip of Brittany to the end of the N Spanish coast, also the rivers & canals of the area. One of the tips I took from your previous vids is stow several spare belts ! Bon Chance & happy days.

+Russ Cattell Hi Russ, you are going to have some good fun exploring that area. Late this summer I spent a couple of weeks cruising Brittany, and found so many places worth seeing more of! Also discovered the nantes - Brest canal, and though I don't think it is navigable for its full length I'm planning a cycling trip there next summer. Also planning taking Cecienne to Norway and across the Arctic Circle - watch this space! Safe cruising. Cheers

John, I had just watched your adventure around the UK yesterday and really enjoyed it, little sad when it came to the end. so came across this when looking and oh yes. Love the new boat. Now waiting for you to share you're next adventure with us. Thanks.

And this is what happens when you buy a Cat B harbour queen not a Cat A _boat._ :-) Seriously though, great footage & adventures.

Just wondered what was the actual number of days travelled and average speed. I just can't seem to find any estimate of time from Gib to UK at about 12 knots assuming weather is good.

Quite the little epic adventure. What did that journey set you back fuel wise? Liters not money, as prices are all ove he place.

Enough to buy the boat twice probably.

US boats of comparable size have double the fuel capacity. The princess 39 has a tiny 650 Liter capacity. A Back Cove 37 has 1136 Liters

There is a well known joke along those lines! 😁

You can get bigger tanks if you insist but most people rarely take these boats out further than a port or two. They're built for socialising not exploring.

Wasn't there a possibility to go through rivers and canals in France, that way you could have skipped going around Spain and Portugal?

Yes, but inland speed limits would have meant it would take much longer

Can you tell me how much you spent on fuel? I want to get the Princess 52 flybridge which is of a similar size!

+Dan Hey Dan. Obviously we did some exploring and made detours along the way, such as visiting Morocco... But total 8438 litres used, and with Euro prices ranging from 1.15 to 1.5 Euros per litre ( and some very cheap fuel in Gibraltar at 54p per litre) total fuel spend £7118 overall for the trip.

+John Boyle Very doable! Thanks for the info.
