See Rotorua thermal pools, Huka falls in Taupo and Waitimo Glowworm cave before driving to Auckland via Hamilton. You may also take a swim in Waiwera hot pools during daytime if possible. Its hot natural water but there is entry fee. Huka falls is free entry. If you reach outside of opening hours in Huka falls, park outside barrier gate and enter on foot. Its legal and allowed.
