200 yard 7 iron 😮 golf is fun😁 So much choice, so many good companies making different equipment. Gonna be interesting when the distance suppressed balls come out. I assume they will still make the modern long distance ball for amateurs but how will the officials keep the distance balls out of the bags of pros, it will be a challenge, and all Winners and top ten finishers will probably have to submit their ball for machine testing. I subbed

I got fitted and will be receiving my irons soon. Have carried the sample 7 iron for a couple of weeks and used it sparingly because it is so long. My handicap has gone from 15.4 to 14.9 the last few weeks.

I have watched a few of these video reviews on these D9 Wilsons and besides all being really fun reviews all you guys are saying virtually the same things: these irons really perform especially distance wise. And so far, none of the reviewers have had anything bad to say about the D9. I am havimg a hard time not buying some of these cool irons!

I am a weekend golfer, high handicap. I play a set of Wilson DI7 from years ago. 3 wedges, 9-5 iron, Wilson Flybrid 3 and 4 hybrids. I have been thinking about getting a similar set up with the new D9's. The price of the clubs is a big attraction. Good video. Thanks.

I would have liked to see the comparison between the Wilson D9 distance with the 7 iron that you play with.

I bought a set of these today (5-GW) along with the driver and 3 wood. My fitting recommended graphite shafts, so comfortable to hit and distance that I couldn't believe with the 7 iron I tried. Very impressive clubs.

Absolutely you should try them out! If it's distance you're struggling with then the D9's can definitely take care of that

Thanks for the nice review. I like the D9 irons. They seem to have a lot of great reviews. I was wondering with the D9 iron.. Do you know if the D9 irons can be bent to +2 or even +3 degree upright lie angle?? Which is roughly what I need. I am not sure what Wilson recommends on Lie angle customization. Thank you very much.
@SnaintonGolfOnline3 жыл бұрын
They are available for custom fit so the lie angle and loft angle can be adjusted!

I currently carry the Wilson Ci11's. Would these essentially be Wilson's newer model of those or the D7 forged closer to the Ci11?

The Flightscope X3 records real-time flight and not a prediction, so the data you see would replicate an on course condition.

How easy/hard is it to hit the D9 5 iron at those strong lofts.
@andrewkirby50023 жыл бұрын
Hi . I’ve had them for 4 months now . The 5 iron is as easy to hit as all the other irons . I’m struggling a bit with accuracy on my driver so I’ve been using the 5 iron off the tee this last week. It goes 220 . I’m actually considering buying a 4 iron as a driving iron.
@bobbrown59513 жыл бұрын
@@andrewkirby5002 Andrew, thank you for the feedback. I was able to try the D9 7 iron in a simulator and was about 15 yards longer than I am with my Ping G25, although the Ping's about 3 degrees weaker. 220 would be out of my range for a 5 iron but would be happy with 185-190 if I could hit it high and straight. Glad the Wilson's are working for you. Cheers from Canada..

5 iron with a 7 on it, but I am getting to the age where I am starting to understand why people want to play irons like these.

@keithbaxendale16123 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard this said by other reviews ( all very positive by the way), but who cares it performs like a 7 iron, you get lots of height and it behaves like a 7. I’m dropping 8 and 9 irons onto a green vertically and after you spend some time on a range and lock in your yardage you can absolutely rely on them

Having a set of irons so high lofted is rediculas. It means that you have a very short shafted mid iron, which is no good for the tall golfer.
@rd2d5632 жыл бұрын
You can get them fitted though and add up to an extra 2" to the shaft length.

Im so sick of this longest iron bs. These things dont go farther then clubs made 15 years ago...the LOFTS ARE TWO CLUBS STRONGER. Marketing bs. Change the number on the club and call it the longest iron ever. Todays 7 iron is a freaking 5 iron. Completely annoying.
@stevedriscoll253923 күн бұрын
I used to feel the same way, but if it gets more guys feeling better about themselves and their game, and it keeps them coming back to the course more often, how can that hurt? You know how I deal with the guys who are bragging constantly about how long they are with their hopped up clubs? I just throw a 73 to 78 at em with my 76-77 Wilson Staff blades and my 1964 Wilson Staff 4350 'strata-bloc" driver and 5 wood😂😂😂 Don't get me wrong though, I am all for people having the most fun they can on the course, so from time to time, I will bring out my 2019 Callaway Apex forged cavity backs and my 2014 Cobra Driver with an Epic 3 wood, and an awesome Adams 2 hybrid. And I have to drop down two numbers with the Callaways to get the same distance as the vintage Staffs, but I can manage the calculations fairly well...I still play better with the old sticks though😂.
