The Reggie Jackson HR at Tiger Stadium in the early 1970s MLB All-star game was hit so hard that it is said it was still rising when it hit the lights and fell back on the field in pieces. It’s estimated that if that ball had not hit the lights the trajectory would have taken it easily over 600 feet. I remember that hit and it was awesome!

Old yankee stadium prior to 1970 was 461' to dead centre with a 20 ' wall, Mantle hit two out there. There still is a picture of the lone fan seated in the area catching the ball about 20 rows back. 520' away from home plate. It's a fact. That is one that has photographic proof. Only three balls ever made that wall Mantle hit two.Mantle hit two balls that came within inches of leaving Yankee stadium nobody else ever came close. Even Aaron said Mickey hit them farther than anyone.

Adam Dunn was a phenom. I call him Mr. 40 / 100. Five years in a row he hit EXACTLY 40 home runs and some 100 RBIs (RBIs actually 100 to 106). He had seven seasons with 40-46 HRs and two with 38, each season 100 RBIs give or take a few. He couldn't hit for squat, lifetime .237, but if you wanted a guaranteed 40 / 100, this was the guy to get. Amazing.

The year prior Kingman played for the Mets and hit the roof of that very same house. So add another 20 feet and you're probably looking at 560. And unlike a lot of these other home runs that are estimates they actually took out a tape measure and got an exact distance. I never hear anyone give credit to Gallaraga. I was a kid when he was in his prime in Colorado, and I would watch highlights on baseball tonight. Anytime he came on I was glued to the tv. Dude was a beast. Especially in 96’ when he really went off. I feel like he’s just a forgotten power hitter from that era that gets overlooked because of Griffey, Sosa, and McGwire. But from 95’ to 98’ he was a menace to opposing pitchers. So glad I got to see the steroid era. Back when people loved baseball.

@@baileybrown811 Ah so is that why none of those were included in this vid? If you honestly believe that Mantle could do that and the enlarged humans of the 90's-today couldn't, you've either been told that from a very young age when the mind is more easily manipulated, you actively are denying physics, or you're lying to yourself. Heavier bats are harder to get the bat speed on. If you wanted to tell me he really got ahold of one and hit it 500, I'd be more inclined to believe it. But 25 feet further than the next furthest hit ball in history, that was hit by a man taking a concoction of banned substances and was 6 inches taller and 45 pounds heavier, is literally not believable unless you are a Yankee fan.

At one time, Stargell held the record for the longest home runs in nearly half of the NL parks. I was fortunate enough to watch his blasts. He made it look so effortlessly. I know he hit many over 500 feet and they marked most of the seats with an S. In 1978, against Wayne Twitchell of the Montreal Expos, Stargell hit the only fair ball ever to reach the club deck of Olympic Stadium. The seat where the ball landed (the home run was measured at 535 feet) was replaced with a yellow seat, while the other seats in the upper deck are red. Upon the Expos departure in 2004, the seat was removed and sent to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.

In college I hit one that was close to 600 ft. The fence was 440, it cleared the parking lot behind that and hit a shed in a residential yard. But I was using an aluminum bat and the pitcher was consistantly hitting mid 90's. I honestly lost it off the bat and 2nd base umpire told me to round the bags. True story.

The one he hit off the facade at Yankee Stadium was still on the way up when he hit it and was attested to by many witnesses in the stands and on the opposing team.
