Oh Boy Oh Boy , what an epic ride. Reminds of my time as a little tacker riding a "red rattler" train from Melbourne to Brisbane with the boy cubs, sleeping on the floor and on wooden bench seats. Glad you survived relatively unscathed and in your usual fine spirits. Love watching your vlogs !!! Keep it up. Rob G.

Vietnam National Assembly discussed building a North-South Express Train nearly two decades ago. Stopped there because of financial problems. Now they are revisiting this stuff. Yeah, the common choice is flying, but you will not have an awesome video like this. I am pleased that you chose the VIP room. The best experience you could have on that train. And I know that there is a 24-hour train. why did you not choose it? FYI, the train can be faster but the rail width is not standard today. It's too narrow and increasing the speed makes it unsafe. The railways in VN were built at the beginning of the 20th century by the French. Thus, slow train for now.

On long flights or train rides etc, I feel like all I do is eat. When I travel from Anchorage, AK to Los Angeles, then from LA to Taipai or another East Asia destination, it seems that all I do is wake up and eat, then again, then again. I think I would rather fly to Saigon from Hanoi. I took an overnight bus from Cambodia to Bangkok and had to get onto another sleeper bus at the border. I thought that was a long ride, but your train ride is pretty damn long. No thank you. Thanks for taking the trip and showing your experience. It's something I will avoid and take a short flight instead.
