Burroughs is the reason for RTJ’s dominance. Proven this year. You all attacked Bloomquist and twisted his words, his fairly benign yet categorically true statement was validated this season. All the fans and media (dirt track daily included) put to much emphasis on Drivers for their success. Guys like Anthony don’t get the acknowledgment they deserve. Overtone’s dominant season was just another example of this. That performance was a result of equipment and “unique” setups that was above everyone else’s combined with his talent. But the competition cycle continued on and he too fell off. This will obviously be a successful matchup, but it does get tiring to see factor support continue to adhere to the model of signing pre established, successful drivers with rides. The industry continues to gate keep, play musical chairs and revolve around the sane “clicks”. The truth is there’s plenty of equally talented wheel men at the local level across the nation. The model didn’t work with B-Shep and Longhorn and it certainly didn’t work for Rocket-1 and T-Mac. Both institutions could easily and quickly develop a new driver and expand the sport. The sport’s sustainability demands expansion and we need to see more investment in new talent outside the established community rather then the current prestigious lineup, “easy” route for the teams or those “buddy’s” with Rumley. Brandon will be competitive on anything. It would be Cool to see Youngblood get a ride like this. RTJ is an example of this MOST people didn’t know that name three years ago. There’s 25 different “local” drivers in this country whom could win races compete with a title by the end of this season with this car, this crew chief, and these finical resources. The current model has started to really resemble nascar and that was proven bad for the series and sport.
