The no-date Rolex Submariner is my grail watch, but alas, I am poor and can only dream at this point. I did, however, buy a $13 Rolex GMT-Master II look-alike at Walmart in 2000. The insert was painted on, but the paint wore off after a couple of deployments downrange, so I bought and superglued an aluminum Submariner insert for about the same price of the watch (made by "Moving Gear" somewhere in China) and now I have a wannabe Submariner. The bezel never turned. Very accurate, by the way.

If you wanted a homage to a submariner,, I think a highbeat movement is needed to have the smoother sweeping second hand. You have had a couple on your channel. I did look at your website price and that is a great price for an NH35 watch as a highbeat miyota 9000 series would cost a lot more.

Take a look at the Port Jefferson or the Phoibos/Islander Eagle Ray. Both are incredible watches and an unbelievable value. They look great and are very well regulated.

The deal breaker for this watch is that the spring bars are way too close to the case so swapping out to a strap is going to be nearly impossible. I’m seeing that a lot lately and that why I stop buying watches.

I picked up a Duxot Princepio dark brown dial auto on a silver steel mesh bracelet a few months ago and have been pleased with the build quality for the money. I just ordered a dressier lime green gemstone Vezeto auto for a decent price. I’ve been liking their designs.
