I picked up my 2024 F150 STX with the FX4 package last week w/ the 5.0 Coyote! Could not be happier! Freakin love this truck , what a BEAST!!! Its got everything you need! The "Only Thing" I do wish that it had is Heated Front Seats. Other than that Perfectly equipped!

One of the biggest scams has to be the “black appearance” package. For at least a grand you can have a few blackened decals &rims. I never knew why the colour black is worth more $. Is Ford saying the blackened F150 badge costs more to produce than the normal one??? Crazy.

I prefer naturally aspirated V-8 more than the turbocharged EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6. If I were to buy a new F-150 I would prefer paying the premium 1,500 extra dollars for having more payload in towing and a longer lasting engine. 🙂

Right now in December the 2.7 Ecoboost is 8k-9k less than the 5.0. The 5.0 with 201A is also a joke with the 3.31

This is a great video with lots of useful info. Really like the looks on the FX4/Rattler version. The black rims nicely offset the white paint and the FX4 decal pulls it all together. Also, I actually like the lime accent on the 1st truck. And I agree, smart move by Ford to upgrade the STX so you can get a decently equipped truck for less money than the higher trims (which have gone insane in pricing).

I like the old school column shifter (shifter on the steering wheel) I grew up driving automatic transmissions that had that. If I remember correctly the newer Ford trucks have a manual mode where there is a button on top of the column shifter where you can shift it like a manual transmission without having to use a clutch. It is technically an automatic transmission it just gives you the option to manually shift an automatic transmission without having to use a clutch because it is not technically a manual transmission. 🙂

Got my '23 Rattler mid march but had no idea the trim existed lol my father also got one afterwards since it had a lot of goodies we liked and omitted the ones we really didn't care for. Amazing truck that has long been turned around in terms of customization and a head turner as well. All in all, feel like got a good pricing for a some what unique truck

I do like Ford's pickup trucks over other manufacturers. My only complaint with Ford is that there is no Adaptive Cruise Control for the F-150 XL Single Cab, 2WD, SWB. Therefore, I'm forced to get Chevy's 1500 WT, S Cab, 2WD LWB with Adaptive Cruise Control and ALL safety tech included. This is a must-have for this senior to continue to drive on today's roads. I am old school and do not care for Pretty-Boy Saturday Night Rhinestone Cowboy trucks. My Grand Daddy taught me to drive in 1973 in his 1965 F-100 I6 (240CI) 3-speed Column shift. FYI thumbs up as always for the presentation.

2024 F-150 is disappointing for the price increase. It's not a great deal compared to 2023-2021. Looks like ford is phasing out regular cab trucks as well. Would not be surprised to see them limited to fleet sales in the next couple of years.

@@steveemary4447 I seriously doubt it they won’t haul his camper and I had a friend that decided to get 5.0 because the EcoBoost wouldn’t have the GVRW capability to haul his camper and talk to Scotty Kilmer he will tell you those EcoBoost engines are junk for towing trailers and those twin-turbochargers wear out the engine quicker and you have to do OCIs more often than a naturally aspirated engine. 🙂

⁠@@frederickwoodard9551Wow if you’re hauling a camper I wouldn’t even consider a 1/2 ton truck, maybe a 3/4 but more likely a 1 ton which is better suited for carrying that extra weight in the box plus you need the heavier duty chassis. As for Scotty he’s a great old school mechanic, when it comes to the newer technology there are better educated mechanics to choose from and to watch. The big thing for these Eco boost engines is regular oil changes, not what the manufacturer recommends, but cut in half. Plus these newer generation turbos are oil cooled and located on the bottom sides of the motor away from all the heat under the hood, so they last. I have a 2.7 EB and at our elevation, it pulls hard all the way up and over the mountain passes, without breaking a sweat. Don’t get me wrong my generation loves big blocks and diesels, but sooner or later we have to adapt or be left behind, plus I don’t own a gas station.

I would rather have the 5.0 V-8 Coyote engine because the 3.5 EcoBoost engine is a hunk of junk. I am not a fan of turbocharged V-6 engines souping up a small engine decreases the longevity of a smaller engine and if you are going to tow anything significant don’t get the EcoBoost get the V-8 Coyote engine Naturally Aspirated engine. 🙂

The other reason why I prefer naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 because 5.0-liter V-8 engines only need Regular Unleaded 87-Octane or Unleaded 88 E15 ethanol gasoline whereas EcoBoost 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 needs Premium 93-Octane Unleaded gasoline which, is more expensive per gallon than Regular Unleaded 87 or E15 ethanol 88 Unleaded Octane gasoline. 🙂
