I added an additional foot of 2” pvc pipe on dust shoe and put vacuum hose onto pvc pipe. It clears all components and easier to take off hose and clean any dust that wasn’t captured.

One thing you could do is get a very stiff larger plastic CUFF about 1ft in length and slide it over the part of the hose near the top of the dust shoe.. and just have double stick velcro or put in a few magnets on the top of the dust shoe and the sleeve going over the flexible hose

get a dust separator and save your vac filter!
