Out of the Keen games 1-5, this is only one I could never beat as a kid. They kept blowing up the world before I could finish. I always used to wonder what the failure conditions were, and if it was even possible to win. Thank you for finally settling that question for me.

After so many years, I found the game I played as a child, and hell I'm so happy right now. I never was able to finish the game when I was 3 years old because I found it pretty difficult. I got my n64 at the age of 4 and maybe thats why I forgot the name but damn, this brings me good memories.

I definitely will. The whole series is really close to my heart. Definitely got me into gaming as a kid. I think Secret of the Oracle is still my favorite.

The first Keen was the best. The other Episodes are all nice and fun to play, but none comes close to the atmosphere of the first game!

I agree that the atmosphere in the first game is great. You really feel like you are exploring Martian cities. Keen 6 is my personal favorite, I think they nailed the same kind of atmosphere in that one

I only had Commander Keen 1 and 4 as a kid but I recently got the whole series on Steam. This is a good game but good lord, the last level is VERY frustrating! So many things you have to do just perfectly and sometimes the game glitches and one of the little red guys you need to jump on won't appear where you need him!

The level at 37:33 is so stupid, I've been trying to do exactly the same as you (jumping on the red guy to get the red cardkey) but the damn character just refuses to jump as high as usual, it keeps on doing a half assed jump for no reason, and I can't reach the platform. I had the hope that there was a different solution, but apparently I have to do that and I can't :/

You don't have to use the red guys head. You can pogo your way there.

Same, no matter how I pogo or jump, I can't get up there. Didn't matter though because I screwed myself out of the yellow key by taking all the coke cans.

Do you really do this all in one take? Or do you edit together the clips of all the levels?

For some games I do complete runs, some others are spliced. For some games you can save in between levels and load them and edit that out. Reason I might do so is to show better gameplay instead of going in (semi-)blind with a chance of messing it up.
