While this hack is nothing particularly special or remarkable (at least the graphics edits aren't hideous like some hacks), I am still amused by the unnecessary loop 1:16:23. Just thinking that Sonic would bother to take the time to run around like that when there'd be no reason to plus the urgency of the explosions.

Captain Southbird I threw that loop in there for the lulz. This was also a pre-asm version. It has since been restarted, using ASM. However, I've not put too much time into it, due to lack of motivation.

Why title this The Lost Land... It's Sonic 2 with a few unimpressive graphics changes and renaming the levels. There's no difference in the levels though. Quite unimpressive... sorry.

You've summarized most ROM hacks. Granted most people don't really have the time and/or talent to totally retrofit a game so that it's remarkably different. The graphics changes are nothing amazing, but at least they look okay. I'll give it that. I've seen some pretty hideous graphics and palette changes in hacks before.
