Longplay of Pitfall: The Lost Expedition

The Pitfall games go WAY back. It was originally released on the Atari 2600 (we have a longplay up on the channel) and there's even an easter egg of this game to be played at 46:30. I wouldn't have thought that such an old game would ever be released for a newer system.. but there's ofcourse many more franchises just like that. Most popularly the Mario games. Anyway, it's a fun platforming game with quite a bit of rope swinging. The combat isn't very special but there's not a whole lot of fighting in the game fortunately. The whole game is basically a big map where you constantly have to backtrack and explore new paths that are accessible with the items you find throughout your journey. Fortunately the game is split up in 16 chapters so that made it easy for me to timecode. You can find collectibles throughout the game which you can use to upgrade your health with or other things. They are definitely worth collecting but I didn't go out of my way to collect ALL of them as it involves alot of backtracking. However, finding them all unlocks another retro Pitfall game to play.. but I didn't' feel like that was worth showing off as we'll have our own full longplay of that game on the channel someday anyway.

I hated that my mom bought me this game and thought it was dumb until I stopped being an idiot and tried it out and omg I absolutely loved it! I am now doing another playthrough on p.c with dolphin emulator thanks to vimms lair for the game download on gamecube

I actually have this on the original Xbox, so luckily I can just save to the hard drive. The whole game's pretty much a piece of cake difficulty-wise, except for a few challenging sections near the end.

For years ive been trying to find this game... literally been trying to find it for about 8 years on and off. I used to play this game on my old xbox when i little and always remembered that he walks on fire and tryed to find the game with only that. After years of searching game databases and searching i have found it and soo humbled and grateful that i played this game! At the end of the day we should really thank our Parents/cares for these memories and the sacrifices they went to take care of us!

I just found this among my old games and had to look it up on KZbin to get some memories back. Definitely nostalgic. I mean I'm 23 now, it had to be like 15 years ago I was playing this as a kid. I remember thinking it was too mature for me between him trying to get with the girl, and the violence of beating the monkeys, and I think I remember some crude humor with the one snotty asshole dude... (I've only watched a few minutes of the video). Also pretty funny how worse the graphics are than what you remember as a kid

As a kid, I couldn't for the life me beat St. Claire at 38:50. And I tried man. Then, after 3 years of trying I almost gave up, when my mom walked in my room, saw me struggling and suggested that I take out the support beams with the sling. I said "No way will that work"... but it did. I fucking cried man as I hugged my mom so tight. I told her that I'd been trying to beat him for 3 years and she understood my pain. She kept helping me until WE finally beat this game. Still one of my favourite titles. Wish they would remaster this or hell, even a brand new adventure. ❤❤❤

Sometimes I get in some nostalgia crisis thinking about specially this game at one really specific day of my life. This one was my favorite game of all time on PS2, I used to play it so much, and I remember when it was "Kids Day" (a special date in Brazil where parents buy presents to their children), I was having so much fun playing this game, and my mother told me: "Let's go buy your Kids Day gift downtown." and we were walking around the city, almost all stores were open at late night, I was looking for something cool for me, having a lot of fun with my family, when we got into a collectible store, there was one little car, a tuned VW Golf GTI that looked just like the ones I used to make on Need For Speed Underground 1 (my another favorite game of all time) and that's like... the ultimate memory of my childhood that i'm always trying to bring back. I used to think that growing up would be the best thing, now that I grew up I just want to go back to these memories... By the way, the game (as I remember) is a really good game, it's packed with fun moments, it's an amazing experience, from gameplay to graphics. I must get to play this game again

My dad got me this game on the wii after he told me he used to play the original when he was a kid. I never finished it! I got really far, but either the game glitched or my kid self was dumb lol. I completely forgot about this game for many years, until I remembered it last night while laying in bed unable to sleep... Thank you for making me relive my childhood with this longplay, almost NOBODY knows about this game and for good reasons, the box art was crap and bland, the game itself while fun was just average at best, the series itself was barely known while also being a strange beast and the platforming genre was already SATURATED to an insane level back then. So I honestly don't blame people for not playing it, there was just much better games back then.
