Longplay of X-Men 2: Clone Wars

Hi all! This was a very fun game! I love any game with a roster of characters to choose from and this game has a lot of replay-ability with the option to pick any character for any level. And with 2 players? Forget it, you’re in for a ton of mutant fun. My only complaint is the game is a little short overall and the individual levels can be very short sometimes. But the visuals, music, and gameplay are all great so I definitely recommend playing this one if you haven’t already!

The Cerebro load screen sound when Jubilee enters the game, and the bomb pop sound when the 3 sentinels land are sampled straight from the X-Men 2 Clone Wars '95 game.

Cyclops’s optic blast looked really good in this game. The beam goes all the way across the screen. Instead of shooting little bars.

I love this game. Also found an easier way to beat Magneto. If you always hit him from the left side of the screen you will push him to the bio-chamber. After only 3-4 hits pushing him he will be far enough over and will surrender.

This game was AWESOME back in the day. Wolverine & Beast we’re my favorite characters to play as but was disappointed that Magneto was the weakest character in the game regardless of his floating ability & being the super Villain that he was in the Comics, Movies & the Tv show. The storyline was great & learned a little bit about the Sentinels. Thanks for uploading this.

@@jtbknuggetsauce That’s your opinion. Have you ever counted how many Hit Points it takes to Beaten a Boss? I have did a hit count on each of the characters back in the day & I calculated that Magneto’s Attacks takes so many hit points to beaten a boss that it made me annoyed to Hell. You have your opinion on him but to me, his attacks are weak. If you have a way to play this game now, I’d suggest you try that again & see if I’m right on that but until then I disagree with your opinion on Magneto.

@@xwf1000v3 I chose my words poorly because by "strongest" I did not necessarily mean highest damage output. For me, his levitation and ability to shoot long range in pretty much any direction makes it very easy to take out enemies without risking taking damage. Therefore his attacks are more strategic/useful for my playstyle at least. Maybe a better way of putting it is I feel he is the safest character because of his range and levitation/dodge. But in this video, I played as every character to show them each off and I feel they are all viable options for every level. After all, the X-Men is a team so it only feels right to change characters!

@@jtbknuggetsauce Wait A minute, are you saying that it was you that posted the long play on this Channel? Guess I didn’t look at the background of this channel. Thought it was just one person but guess I was wrong on that. You may have some good points on Magneto but even thought he can Fly & try to attack enemies from above, it still doesn’t make the excuse that his attacks are weak against the Enemies or bosses in this game. I know this is a team effort. That’s what the X-Men are but in this game Magneto is just an ally in this game due to the Storyline. The alliance is through when the game is over but I do know in the X-Man 97 reboot cartoon show, Magneto has taken over the team due to Xavior’s poor condition. It will be a test to see if Magneto can be a team player & a good leader to face off against Mr. Sinister & new Allies now that his loyal henchman were killed during that Phalanx Invasion the cartoon had.

But either way I enjoy hearing your perspective and take on this Xmen game, it was really fun and you're right that Magneto has a rather unique role int his game. In the end there is probably a character that fits anyone's playstyle and I enjoyed Magneto most but you're right that he doesn't do as much damage and in addition to that his special move isn't all that great either!

The graphics, gameplay were great in this game. The soundtrack is awesome too. My only complaint is that I wish Magneto had better abilities. He was a weak character for being Magneto

I caved and bought a sega just to play this gem again I had it 20 years ago and sold all my sega stuff like a idiot for the crappy n64 and to top it off I couldn’t even get the n64 outright had to throw another $100 in worst decision I ever made but we’re back baby by far one of my favorite sega game of all time it blew the first game out of the water being able to use unlimited powers and the graphics were a big step up btw your really good lol

That sentinel level always creeped me out as a boy. This is a great game to watch but I remember really struggling to get anywhere near to complete it because it got really hard later on.

This is my favorite super hero game for the genesis whether it involves detective comics characters or marvel comics characters my favorite pieces of ost come from levels 2 and 3 the sentinel factory 🏭 and avalon home town of the x men's long time nemesis magneto!

This game was a nice improvement over the first one; the visuals and color are fine although I would have liked to see some parallax scrolling and layered backgrounds. The music is typical GEMS rubbish quality; the GEMS format really detracted from a lot of later era Genesis games.
