Ok guys thanks for all the views and comments, not trying to make any excuses, just wanted to clarify it was a trigger problem. It is a almost stock pre-accutrigger set at just under 2 lbs. the sear adjustment screw came loose after about 350 rounds totally my fault. It now has a jam nut and a drop or two of loctite. Thanks again Going back to get the 2K jug ✝️🇺🇸⚖️⚔️
@geargrinder30144 жыл бұрын
If the sear adjustment screw came "loose", you would have gained more sear engagement. Your trigger was set too light (not enough sear engagement). That's why you tripped the sear when you were ramming the bolt closed. If you are going that light on a pre-accutrigger, you need a light touch closing the bolt.

If your on here blaming Savage it really shows that you a novice to the gun/shooting world. Nothing left on that gun was OEM/Stock. It had a after market trigger. And I am guessing that it was set at under a pound somewhere the low ounces. And if you slow the video down I am not convinced that one of his fingers didnt brush the trigger while closing the bolt. Anyways it was asinine to blame Savage for parts that weren't savage anymore!

The aftermarket triggers I've used with savage can be adjusted too far out to the point at which they can just go off when you drop the bolt, the savage trigger design is kind of shit in that regard.

Wonder if that unexpected fire is due to the accutrigger being adjusted to far out. My savage 110 did that when locking the bolt down fast. Had it set to far out. Changed the trigger to a ELF man that just got released this year

My guess is, it was a trigger malfunction. It’s common that when a trigger is tuned too much, is broken or improperly modified that it will fire upon closing the bolt.

@@LongRangeShootersofUtah look I certainly could be wrong. But his palm is completely open with his thumb going under the gun. He pushes the bolt forward and down. Then immediately as he retracts his hand, his thumb is right near the trigger (you can watch in slow mo). Then you'll notice when he cycles the bolt the next time he doesn't do it the same. Look I'm not trying to do anything but highlight what might have caused it. So it can be avoided in the future. It's all about everyone's safety. His thumb is very close to a very light trigger.

Was he shooting handloads? That first round of his 300prc looked to be well overpressure. Bolt was sticky when extracting & the primer looks to be missing when its rolling off the table. Could be a contributing factor to the misfire of the rifle.

im $4000 into my savage 300 PRC right now, and that is still using the oem 110FCP barreled action. next that damned accutrigger is getting swapped. The accutrigger stops what you seen in this video. The ONLY AFTERMARKET TRIGGER FOR SAVAGE THAT REPLACES ALL OF THE SAVAGE TRIGGER PARTS IS THE NEWER JARD. So that being said, i'm going with that. The savage oem sear, that is used by all other aftermarket triggers is the issue that causes slam fires like you seen here. It is that sear design that is the flaw. So if you want a reliable trigger on a savage set at less than 1lb, pony up the money and do it right. My Red blad target accutrigger is suppose to be able to function at 1lb. It does, if you close the bolt softly every time. The accutrigger blade stops the rifle from firing, but the trigger will lock out until you re-cock the rifle. Nice budge build the guy has here though. Goes to show a good shooter, can make even a cheap build shine.

Exactly why barrel always points down range, I slowed it down and enhanced and his middle finger slid across the trigger. I'm guessing about an 11oz trigger lmao
@timbaskett62994 жыл бұрын
I had to look that one up, I know the 6.5 PRC is based on the .300 Ruger Compact Magnum. The .300 PRC is based on the .300 Norman Magnum, which leads me to the question "Is someone going to make a 6.5mm cartridge based on the .300 PRC?"
@shitsngiggles83714 жыл бұрын
Their already doing wild cats 6.5-300 prc but I'm thinking about 7mm-300 prc with 195 gr Berger or the 180 eldx that would be a monster.

The 300 PRC is not based on the 300 Norma Magnum. Its parent case is the 375 Ruger, because part of the design is to use the standard magnum bolt face.

The only thing left on that rifle which was Savage was the action, which itself was probably modified, and your takeaway is that it was the brand's fault? Not suggesting someone does or doesn't buy any given brand, but I'm pretty sure that malfunction wasn't the fault of the OEM there. ;)
