how come long track skaters don't wear helmets? It seems like a crash at the speeds they go in long track could be pretty hard on the noggin.

well some do wear them but i think it is because it is safer then short track because you have room and since wind is a thing maybe thats why

Because most of the time when you fall, you don't fall on your head. When it is busier on the track, a lot of the skaters wear helmets
