I did a teacher exchange from Canada to Cornwall for 1 year. The 1st place I visited was Looe. I would look out at the island not knowing the Atkins sisters lived there. I've read both books & wish I'd visited when the ladies lived there.

I lived on the Island as a boy of 5years old in 1967-68. My Dad maintained the Island (looking animals and landscaping) for the Sisters. At first we lived in the Smugglers Cottage before moving up to the main house.

My Ex wife was related to Babs And Evelyn, they were the aunts of her father. We used to visit them as often as possible. They bought the island back in the 60's for around £20,000 which was a shed load of money back then and to this day I have no idea where they got that money. I was hoping to inherit the island when they died because we were the only living relatives of them but they gave it away to the national trust ??? I got divorced about 3 years later.
