Build yourself a word, with ED.. and magic magic E. Those were the ones that stuck with me, for decades!

I used to love Dark Towers at Junior school. Scared the crap out of me when I was a kid but it was a good little series that helped a lot with reading.

I never got to see this Look and Read. The ones I remember were Geordie Racer, Through the Dragon's Eye, Earth Warp, Spy Watch and Badger Girl. I wish I'd seen this one, some of these songs are great! The 'Why Don't you build yourself a word' one is a classic!

Aaaah, Through The Dragon's Eye was the one that really resonated with me. For some reason that glowing shape clue, which only showed in the dark, was super ominous to young me! Do you remember Button Moon too? Mostly just the intro song.

According to the credits Dark Towers was made in 1981, which explains the similar synth music you hear in Sci-Fi shows around that time in Boy From Space, Doctor Who & Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy. The music matches perfectly with these shows making them memorable to kids. Great work.

Roger Limb and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop were responsible for a lot of the, 'sci-fi', type music of the time.

@kalemdor1 Wrong! the UK joined the EEC in 1973, not the EU which was not created until 1993 as part of the Maastricht Treaty, it was this treaty combined with the Lisbon Treaty (2007) that created the legal structure that we recognise as the modern EU that seeks to override the sovereign powers of the individual member nations.
