My great-grandfather had one panel truck like this many years ago, he used to drive it drunk on Christmas, and he carried all my family on it 😂 . But he went blind and he lost everything, nowadays, his truck is abandoned on his ranch, which is abandoned too. I really would like to restore his truck.

Thanks, actually I sold the truck. The tires were Michelin radials but I don't remember the size.

Howdy Brad. Sorry/happy you sold it. We just picked up a 1949 KB-2 just outside Vancouver, BC (Fort Langley). Hey we had a question we have not yet been successful in researching so I figured you might know. We are confused as to why only the passenger side has a key lock on the outside of the door and the driver side has no key hole? How do people lock the driver side and what was the logic behind having a keyhole only in the passenger side? Scratching our heads. Thanks!

Hi George. Glad you found a new toy. As fat as I know the thinking back in the day was to always exit out on the sidewalk so the driver would lock his door from the inside and then slide over (always a bench seat back then) and jump out on the sidewalk therefore only needing a keyed lock on the passenger side.

I should have mentioned, you lock the doors from the inside by turning the lever backwards. :)
