Filmed March 2019.
This video first starts off showing the North Elevators which are Thyssenkrupp Traditional, but as you can see, they're in the process of being modded as the signs suggest. I'm not sure who's modding them or why they're being modded as the TK mod isn't old at all, but they're being modded, and what's ironic is this isn't the only place I went to with TK Traditional Mods going away and the hotel also having Otis elevators which are staying. If you want to see a video of these elevators when they were working, check out this link: • Video
The elevator I did get to ride however was a Otis Series 2 Gen2 Modded Elevator located in the Center of the Property. It's fairly nice, although physically a bit worn, but unlike many of these Series 2 Modded Elevators I rode in Myrtle Beach, it mechanically runs quietly and smoothly for the most part, suggesting it's likely well maintained, yet that isn't the case for the South Elevators here.... Overall, kind of basic, but still overall a decent elevator with a COLORFUL Cab!!! This was once a service elevator back when escalatorgeek881 filmed it.
And just like most elevators in Myrtle Beach, these are former US Elevators, but modded...
That all being said, enjoy the video!
Installed: 1973 (US with Square Buttons)
Modernized: Circa 2000s (Otis with Series 2 fixtures, new Gen2 motors, controllers, equipment, cabs, etc.) (Central Elevator), (Thyssenkrupp with Older Traditional Fixtures, New Cabs, New Motors and Controllers) (North Elevators)
North Elevators are being modded AGAIN in 2019!!!!
