An older gentleman I know attended this race. He and some friends had driven up to Daytona Beach in his father's brand new '58 Cadillac and parked it at the beach, and they walked a little less than a mile to the race course to spectate. He said it was an incredible experience, up until the race was over, they walked back, only to find the tide had come in and the car was buried up to the doors in water and sand. He didn't want to go into detail about how his father reacted :P

Hey Ken i had the privlege of geting to know a diver and car owner that raced there on the beach and road course in 58 the driver was LIOYD MOORE AND 1950 NASCAR CHAMPIONSHIP CAR OWNER JULIAN BUESINK he brought two cars down a hardtop for Lioyd to drive and a convetible for FIREBALL Roberts to drive
