Breguet as a brand has always been under valued. When I first got into the hobby, breguet was the first brand that got my interest. In history, Abraham breguet invented the tourbillion, still the only brand to exhibit in the lourve museum in Paris and have clients like Queen Victoria and Napoleon. In my opinion, the brand screams horology. The reason why I believe it is undervalued is because it represents old history, along with their designs, they are targeted at the older generation of clientele. They are priced at the same price point as some of the hyped pieces at retail and also it not an independent anymore. Just some of the reasons, however, they produce high end horology pieces. If the celebrity don't wear it then it's not going to be popular!! Better for us horology collectors, as some pieces pre owned are very very good value selling much below the retail price.

Despite very nice and elaborate designs, a great history, very high quality finishing... the lugs on ALL Breguet watches are horrible. They make the watches wear weird. They never sit perfectly on the wrist. That's just my humble opinion

Breguet definitely deserves more love. Also, this is one instance where I feel the automatic looks better aesthetically than the manual wind. Probably because the rotor does not obstruct any of the gears.

Nice review, thanks! The hacking feature still makes sense. Seconds hand or no seconds hand, I suppose it still keeps good time. So, while setting, one pulls the crown, sets it to the next minute and then one pushes in the crown when the reference timekeeper reaches that minute.

The tradition line is super underrated. The skeletonisation is all done purposely and never looks busy. The 7057, 7097 and this 7597 are my favourites. I really love the skeleton look and the exposed balance wheel! Great video Marko!

Great video. I own a WG La Tradition 7097, and it is my favourite watch. It gets the most wrist time amongst my precious metal dress watches. That dedicated movement built for the tradition is just beautiful to look at, all its details provide hours and hours of viewing enjoyment. I could be wrong, but I believe the breguet name on the rotor is hand engraved.

Breguet should be included in the so called "holly trinity", should be one of the most respected brands, should not loose value. Here is Why: 1. The finishing: anglage, wheels, bridges, amazing case!!! nearly no one talks about, screws, hand guilloché, mirror polishing, and much more I forgot 2. The history 3. The design 4. The non hype (as the video mentions) The Tradition has so many elements to make a watch geek, a collector or a watchmaker happy to have it in his collection.

A lot of skeletonized watches look too busy to be artful. They look like an ostentatious cluttered mess. This Breguet you are showing certainly does not have the aesthetic problem that plagues so many skeletonized watches. It has beautiful symmetry and proportion and looks very refined. The most undervalued brand at the moment. Amazing how you can find some Tradition models for the same price or even less than a steel Rolex in the used market. How people spend 20-30k for a hulk instead of this (not qp tradition but a time only one) I dont understand.

A fine example of exquisite watch making. I’ll take this over any Rolex anyway. (If I could only afford them 🙃) I agree that the hacking seconds doesn’t make sense. But I was just about to say to myself ; where is the second hand. Then the topic came up. I do think a second hand could have complemented this watch. Maybe even in retrograde style.

5:40 I do disagree. Even if the watch doesn't have seconds hand you still have the choice of adjusting the minutes hand quite accurately. Especially on a watch which has minutes track, like this one.

Well, we both have our own opinion and that's fine, you can set the minute hand also if it's running, those few seconds won't change abit thing. :)

Yes, of-course you can. But if the the watch is not running you can align the minute hand in peace with the next coming minute. Then you just wait for your reference clock to hit that minute. Once it hits, you just push the crown. I think this is a more straight forward approach.

While I love the open dial work of the Traditions I'm slightly disappointed that a rack emerges from under the dial as the date progresses through the month, it looks rather unsightly and I'm not surprised Breguet doesn't show it in there publicity pphotos

Greetings Of all the big makes of watches, Breguet certainly stand out above most of them, but what on earth were they thinking putting those two blue screws to attach the dial to the Watch, it completely ruins the aesthetics of the Watch, engineering wise there's plenty of ways the dial could have been fixed to the movement invisibly? Apart from that a beautiful watch, the other watchmaker R.W Smith only makes 10 watches a year is not unlike Breguet in appearance but even more higher quality, and I'm sure he would definitely disapprove of the two blue screws and would never do such a thing , love your KZbin posting keep up the good work, so refreshing to see real horological crafted pieces, and not those ugly grossly overrated average built Rolex !!
