Hey guys I bought 1 in the early 2000's and it is still bumping like the day I brought it home. I have replaced every other speaker in my system twice but can't see upgrading this thing.

That's such a scam for that much money i would expect more quality and especially a better woofer not saying that one is bad but at that price range they really ripped you off I was at least expecting it to be dual voice coil but they really cheap out on it. Yeah, these subwoofers are no good. I had the same model and it lasted about three years before the amplifier in it died like his one.

There is no advantage to dual coils with a dedicated amp. This is not auto sub crap.

Yup, mine cht10q also has cheap Chinese electronic guts (( And it's awful high pitch wining noise with variable tone making me headache 😢 Only powering it OFF with a switch helps

Мне не нравится сабвуферов, их трудно правильно интегрировать в систему без цифрового процессора. Гораздо лучше купить хорошие напольные колонки, который будет играть от 35Hz (+-3dB).

I've got the 8 in model Velodyne.And that thing hits harder then my Velodyne 10 in subwoofer.I've had to replace the foam around the front of the speaker from dry rot,but after I did it this things hits hard.I love it so much I went a bought the 10 in model in the classifieds .

Cool video, what's the resistance of that speaker ? 8 ohm or 4 ohm, so the speaker is clamped with screws from the front and behind...

The surround for a 15 inch is quite thin but still a beautiful woofer

Thick surround is used for low bass notes. Thin surrounds (upto 3x surrounds) are used for tight & punchy bass.

All those people saying not worth more than x on all those videos but neither of them wrote what is better for that price. Truth is enclosure, amp is quite expensive to make. The company needs to distribute pay for marketing r&d etc and make money plus the store that selss their products also makes money. They can't afford doing no compromise build

I like the electronic music you played during very informative vid. I hate how so many people post vids with minimally dynamic music. Keep up good info and sounds. I have 15" Val. but speaker is a little beafier in the cage construction and looks like bigger magnet too. Apparently slightly different model. Little more boxy look to the enclosure than yours. fuse keeps blowing, not sure yet why but looks like it may need new board but it rocks the house when it's up and running.

$1000 for foam surround and steel basket? I paid $200 for a SB acoustics 12in sub that's way better than this (cast aluminum basket, rubber surround, big motor) and I had to do the enclosure and electronics which were under $100.

@@Techscrews is the outer trim ring removable from the outside by prying it or do you need to go on the inside. In your video I can't tell if you had to remove something from the inside in order to get that outer trim ring off

LoL. That fluffy material does not work at all. Best thing is mineral wool, but nasty for the lungs. Should be sealed, but still a lot of air moving. I would go for heavy foam.
